question

Will this work on the EOS M6?
Asked by: ROBERT R.
I think it will. In the M6 video, it shows the Canon EVF-DC2 Electronic Viewfinder mounted on it and if you go to that viewfinder listing, it says it will work on the M6 and M3. So that tells me if the DC2 works on both, the DC1 should also.

question

Can you lock the EVF-DC1 down (eye-level format) so it doesn't keep flipping up?
Asked by: Larry H.
I am unaware how to do that. It flips up at will.

question

I have one that I use on the M3 and am thinking about buying the M6. Will this viewfinder also work on the new M6?
Asked by: Anonymous
I'm afraid for this precise technical answer, it's best to check with Canon. Call their service center and ask them directly. Some guy on a chat line saying yeah, sure isn't the same as Canon saying it. Call their factory at (949) 753-4200.

question

Cant it fit on the g1x 15.1-60.4mm?
Asked by: Anonymous
I would suggest you contact Canon directly with this question, it has a lot of elements - physical (standard shoe, should fit), electronic (voltage/image data circuit compatibility), and interface/optical considerations (any coupling issues with this particular lens system) - Ken C -

question

will this work with the first generation eos m?
Asked by: Richard D.
I don't have an M so I can't try it. It works with my M3. I doubt it would work with anything earlier as it needs a dedicated hot shoe connection for data transfer that wasn't present before the M3

question

Hi, does this piece have some sort of old style cross-hairs to aid in the focusing? Or is the focusing purely by eye? Thank you!
Asked by: Olafur T.
Nothing in the viewfinder to aid with focusing. Just your eye. Also it is not the best viewfinder I have ever used.

question

What's the magnification (full frame equivalent)?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello,There are no formal specs that specify the magnification.Probably its about 100% - from a personal usage. It does not seem that the view looks magnified. Anyway I guess it is not possible to talk about magnification, either optical (like viewing via optical accessories e.g. Hoodman one's since there is no source to be magnified) or % view of the image such as for optical viewfinders of cameras (since this product just take the pixels from the sensors).Best regards,A.D.

question

I have a 7D Mk11 and I need to have my eye next to the camera to get my shots. Great for the pics but no good for the video. Will this work for the 7D mk11? Or does someone know of something better? Thanks
Asked by: Carl S.
Hello. As far as I know the EVF-DC1 works only with G1X MK ii and with G3X, and not with DSLR's such as the 7D MK ii.
