The Genaray SpectroLED Studio 500 Bi-Color LED Two Light Kit from B&H features two 500 bi-color LED panels and two light stands, everything you need for a 2-point lighting setup. Each panel has an LCD touchscreen that gives you easy control of light intensity from 100 to 0%. They also include wireless remote controls with a range of 65' for lights mounted overhead or at a distance. The SP-S-500B lights offer a 60° flood beam angle and a high CRI of >93 for precise color rendering.

The kit includes with each panel a ratchet-handled mounting knuckle, a multi-voltage AC adapter, 2 cable straps and a diffusion filter to soften the light's output. This all fits in the kit's soft-sided carry case with shoulder strap. Also included are two heavy duty 3-section light stands. These stands even have air-cushioning to help prevent accidental damage to the lights.

Designed primarily for the studio, the SP-S-500B features a Large LCD touchscreen to control 100-0% dimming with negligible color shift. Alternatively, you can control the light wirelessly via the included remote control. Constructed entirely of metal, the SP-S-500B features an integrated carry handle and textured, reflective 4-way barndoors with gel clips that fold flush to the fixture to protect the array during transport. The SP-S-500B is channeled on all 4 sides to allow repositioning of the mounting knuckle to facilitate vertical or horizontal orientation.

You can use the included multi-voltage AC adapter with right-angle input virtually anywhere in the world or use an optional Sony V-Mount or Anton Bauer battery plate with pro batteries when main power is not available.

Genaray SpectroLED reviews

SpectroLED Studio 500 Bi-Color LED Two Light Kit is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware I have used these lights for production with mixed results. The latest problem is a deal breaker and has cost me hundreds of dollars. The lights themselves work fine but there are a few things you need to be aware of. 1. The power supply they come with is faulty. One of them broke and only works on occasion. I contacted their customer service and they said they can't send a replacement part for weeks (with no specific timetable) because they don't have any. Seeing as how we use this product daily this is NOT an option for us. Contacting the company is a waste of time. 2. The remote's these lights come with simply do not work 90% of the time. You are better off using the LCD screen and that only works about 50% of the time. The lights themselves are OK. They are a good solution for a cheap light that can do some interesting things and if you are going the LED route they are an affordable solution. I can't recommend this product because of the faulty equipment and the refusal of their customer service department to do anything that would rectify a faulty piece of equipment. Look for alternatives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic build quality, looks built to last Everything you need to light a small set on-the-fly. Comes with nice solid stands, bags to keep the lights in with nice comfortable straps, and very long leads for the lights which will mitigate the need for extension cords. The lights themselves are made of a strong metal, and the barndoors are screwed on with large, metal screws the old fashioned way, and don't budge or move when you open and close them. The only thing that I worry about, is that the LEDs are mounted to where the bottom of the bulb is flush with the case, leaving protruding bulbs. This isn't a problem, except when changing the magnetic diffuser, in which the hard plastic diffuser can be used as a pry between the bulbs and barn doors, causing pressure to be exerted on the bulbs themselves. If you're careful removing and replacing the diffuser, this should not present a problem, but there are prying opportunities between the bulbs and the bars that support the barndoors. The diffusers are held on magnetically, and the magnets are strong enough that light bumps do not dislodge them. The touchscreen on the back is a bit overkill, but they do this because the units come with individual remotes that are quite useful. The remotes can power on/off, dim, change color, and have a few useful shortcuts that the panels themselves do not. The remotes are RF, work through walls, and can be reprogrammed to work with multiple lights or different individual lights extremely easily, and it isn't a hassle to do it on set, making them very versatile indeed. The throw of the lights is quite powerful for this price range, and the bulbs look specialized for this job, not just generic LEDs like other competitive panels. At full brightness, they easily illuminate a subject 8 feet away, and the barn doors are very reflective and useful at containing the light. The lights are powered with AC adapters that come with the kit, and can be alternatively powered with anton bauer batteries or sony l series batteries, with a mounting bracket that's sold separately. The power input is a 4pin male XLR, meaning versatility in getting power to them. The stands are also quite nice. They are air-impact, meaning that each extension is somewhat air-tight, and if you loosen an extension to allow the stand to retract, as it falls, air builds up within the stand, and gently allows the stand to retract with no harsh impacts. Whatever is mounted to the stand gently rides down a cushion of air instead of slamming into the base of the stand. The knuckle that attaches the lights to the stand I am very impressed with. Unfortunately, it looks proprietary on the light side, but allows you to attach the light at the top, bottom, and both sides, so you can stand the light on end on the stand. It also slides to either side of the light, and doesn't only mount in the middle, making it a very versatile mount. The knuckle feels very heavy and impossible to break and operates smoothly for such a big chunk of heavy metal. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, I work with the Litepanels brand on the daily at my 9-5, and these don't feel any cheaper or more breakable than the real thing. These easily replace the 2013 version of the 1x1 Litepanels, but the newer version is much brighter (and much more expensive.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright and versatile I purchased this kit to replace my outdated halogen hard lights. I am not disappointed with the purchase. These light heads have many settings (10% to 100% power and 3400 K to 5600 k) allowing me to use them in many situations. Being LED's they do not draw much power so I do not have to worry about blowing fuses any more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend this product We use the product in our video studio for recording training sessions. The ability to adjust the colour temperature offers us unlimited visual effects. Remote controls are also nice to have.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very ajustable not super bright The control on these lights is good the only negative is that shooting at 5000K you only get about 1/2 of the rated output (only 1/2 of the LED's are on).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and sturdy. Great buy. Really like these lights and the case. The stands are adequate and not as sturdy as others we have. Overall would recommend!
