The 120GB 2.5" SSDNow V300 Solid State Drive Notebook Upgrade Kit from Kingston is a kit that will allow you to mount this SSD either in your notebook's 7mm or 9.5mm drive bay. Compatible with Windows and Mac OS systems, the drive connects via the SATA 6 Gb/s interface, while also being backwards compatible with SATA 3 Gb/s. This SSD will allow you to store and quickly access up to 120GB of your files, such as movies, photos, music, documents, and more. If you wish to use this SSD to directly replace a conventional notebook hard drive, this can be done using the included Acronis Cloning software for Windows.
With solid state drive technology, you benefit from load and access times for your files and programs that are faster than a conventional 7200 rpm hard disk drive. The drive offers sequential read and write times of 450 MB/s, as well as random 4K reads up to 85,000 IOPS, and random 4K writes up to 55,000 IOPS (Input/Output Operations per Second).
Included in this notebook upgrade kit are a 7mm to 9.5mm Adapter, a 2.5" USB Enclosure, Acronis Hard Drive Cloning Software for Windows, and an installation video.
Compatible with Notebook Systems
Compatible with notebook systems running Windows 7, Vista, XP, and Mac OS, this 2.5" SSD can be mounted in your notebook's 7mm drive bay. Using the included 7mm to 9.5mm adapter, it is also possible to mount this drive in your notebook's 9.5mm drive bay.
The SSD connects via the SATA 6 Gb/s interface. The SATA interface is also backwards compatible with SATA 3 Gb/s.
If you wish to use this SSD to directly replace a conventional notebook hard drive, either the target or destination hard drive may be mounted in the included 2.5" USB enclosure, which is then connected to your notebook using a USB cable. The cloning process is then run using the included Acronis Cloning software for Windows.
Since SSDs contain no mechanical parts, they are more durable against physical damage, including data loss, and are not subject to the wear and tear that standard HDD's receive from read/write heads.
