Vortex DBK-10019 overview

  • 1Description

The 4-16x42 Diamondback HP Riflescope from Vortex Optics is a versatile 1" main-tube scope featuring a built-in zoom eyepiece and the Vortex-exclusive Dead-Hold BDC reticle. This is a modified duplex with hashmarks on the hoizontal and lower-vertical axes to aid in ranging, hold-over, and ballistic drop compensation set on the Second Focal Plane (SFP). The scope produces crisp and clear images with accurate color representation by using Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass and Vortex's proprietary XR optical coatings. ED glass corrects for chromatic aberration to eliminate color and image distortion on the edges of the field of view, while the anti-reflective XR coatings ensure as much light as possible is transferred through the optical tube for a bright and clear view. Internally, the Diamondback has the Precision-glide prism system that ensures that the zoom function remains smooth and easy in all weather and temperature conditions.

Windage and elevation turrets allow for 1/4 MOA per click shot correction to get you on-target, and they are re-settable to zero after your initial sighting. An easily accessible side focus wheel gives you parallax correction. The exterior optical surfaces have ArmorTek coatings that bead and repel water and oils, while offering protection against scratches and abrasions. Its aluminum housing has a scratch and corrosion-resistant anodized finish, and is argon-filled for water and fogproof performance.

    Vortex DBK-10019 reviews

4-16x42 Diamondback HP Riflescope (Dead-Hold BDC Reticle) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 73.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice I bouight this scope for my 7mm rem mag. I had a regular vortex diamondback 4-12x40 but the eye relief was a little less than optimal and I thought I could benefit from an additional 4x power so i moved the diamondback to my 270 and bought the Diamondback HP 4-16x42 for my 7MM. This scope is amazing for the price. It stays clear through all zoom ranges and reticle tracks well. lenses are clear. Eye relief is perfect at 4. very happy with my purchase. This is my 3rd Vortex purchase and I ma very satisfied with all 3. B&H did there part with fast shipping and a bonus gift card and Smith Shooting glasses with two lenses. thanks B&H .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing scope for such a low price! Can't be beat. I have had this scope for a little over two years now, it has migrated from a .300AAC Blackout, to a .17HMR, and recently onto my Remington Ultimate Muzzleloader. Having the ability to reset the zero at will makes it perfect for this task of breaking in new rifles before I buy a permanent scope for that firearm, allowing me to decide if I want something different or not. Clarity, magnification from 4-16, and good light gathering makes range days and even hunting a breeze, and the durability and Vortex warranty makes it a no brainer....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best scope in any price range. Period. I first tried Vortex last year after a Leupold scope failed me with drifting crosshairs on a cold weather Colorado elk hunt. I am a meat hunter, so that is just unacceptable to say the least. I heard and read good things, so after my hunt I picked up a 3-12 Diamondback HP and mounted it on a Remington 700 in 270 Win to check it out. Flawless, awesome quality, user-friendly and uncluttered BDC, awesome parallax and eye relief adjustment, smooth articulating power adjustment and just ultra clear. Super rugged, especially in dual dovetail mounts. So I stepped up and put a 4-16HP on on a Howa 1500 in 7mm-08 and it worked just as well. So I finally mounted another on my primary elk rifle, a Winchester M70 Featherweight in 270WSM. I am now officially a Vortex guy. If you are going to put a scope to its intended use, you simply cannot go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performed as expected I could not get the scope to hold a zero. Took it back and though I mounted it incorrectly they replaced the scope. Mounted it again and it did what I expected it to do. Held zero and tracked properly too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, great results I purchased this scope for my 7mm rem mag. I knew it would be a great scope, and you can't beat the price. The pictures do all the talking. 100 yards, nothing but a backpack for a rest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its awesome! I bought my son a Vortex scope for Christmas and he loved it. So I thought why not me! I mounted my Vortex scope on a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle and have found the scope to be outstanding. After bore sighting the rifle and scope, both were grouping right on after four rounds. It's a great scope for the money! Couldn't be happier with my Diamondback!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bang for the bucks I bought this brand new in 2014 and paired it with a Tikka T3 Lite in .308 Winchester. I have worked up a load that shoots sub-MOA consistently. The glass is clear and great for this price range. Using the BDC zeroed at 100 yards, I shot sub-MOA groups at 300 yards at the range and targets out to 550 yards. The scope is durable and kept its zero after numerous falls (me slipping and falling included) and scratches from brushes/trees. I never had the zero-shift because of the .308 either. This scope also comes with a sunshade that helps out during those sunny days. This set up is very light and is my go-to setup for backpacking here in California. Definitely the best bang for your bucks rifle scope out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great glass with a clear view I recently bought this for my .300 win mag haven't gotten it on the range yet, but I've used it to look around. So far I'm thrilled with the view it's clearand sharp through all levels of magnification, the side focus is smooth, and I love the bdc reticle it's my third diamondback with the bdc. I can't wait for the weather to improve to get it on the range.
