Solid feel but cheap metal clips inside

I really liked the feel of this product. It looked solid and had a heavy feel to it. I contemplated even keeping it for the little travel bag it came with that was also pretty good quality. However, after the first time using it, two of the three metal clips inside the bowens mount, that help keep the mounted softbox securely in place, broke. It would still hold the gear fine but i decided to return it. I shouldnt have a partially broken product after first use. And as others have stated, the two screws for the adapter are quite flimsy. even with alot of tightening the adapter still has some give. This adapter will work just fine with some lighter, smaller softboxes. But i wouldnt trust it with more expensive gear.

Decent adapter for the price.

Solid build, fits well. Has a thumb screw instead of a spring loaded pin to lock the speedring in place. A little cumbersome, but it works. Comes disassembled. Assembly requires a screw driver for two screws. Comes with a bag, but will not fit in bag unless disassembled first so I used the bag for other odds and ends I need to keep together. So again, decent for the price.

It works but

It feels pretty solid other than the two screws holding the ring mount on, pretty sure it will not last.

worked fine

I use it to hold small softboxes and dishes. My only ding is that the retaining pin isn't spring loaded; you have to thread it in and out.

Snug fit and easily adjustable. I use it for 600 EX-RTs.

The reviews are 100% correct.

After reading about the screws loosening and the metal clips breaking, I went ahead and bought some. I did in fact lose pieces of the metal clips during the first use, but this is not a major issue. The screws that raise and lower the head also work loose very quickly, but a little loctite solved that problem. Overall I do like the product and would recommend it to anyone, just know the small issues going in.

Do you have some S-type softboxes and snoots to mount on a Speedlight? This bracket works great.

aprox 3 1/2 or 3 9/16 to be closer. Hope this helps. Plenty of room for a strobe to fit through if thats what your wondering.
