  • 1Description

The NVW-470 All-in-One SwannSecure Wireless System with Two Cameras from Swann is an expandable surveillance system that combines a monitor and DVR into one unit and provides two indoor/outdoor day/night Wi-Fi cameras. Swann has removed external buttons and used a 7" touchscreen display. Interact with the system, change settings, or map motion-detection and privacy-mask zones all by touch. The DVR supports up to four Wi-Fi cameras that can be added later with simple plug-and-play compatibility for faster setup. Video is recorded to a microSD card (up to 64GB, 8GB included). Additionally, the DVR supports remote access from a computer or mobile device.

The included cameras are rated for outdoor use, and feature 36 IR LEDs each and automatic IR cut filters. The filters and LEDs provide invisible illumination to a maximum range of 50'. A built-in microphone provides audio monitoring, but audio recording is not supported.

    Swann NVW-470PK2-US reviews

NVW-470 All-in-One SwannSecure Wireless System with Two Cameras is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst product ever Do not buy. One of the worst products I've ever purchased. The cameras do not configure as they should leaving you with limited functionality and poor signal strength and a broken connection to the main board. The main boards network port does not work which prevents software connections or updates. The board frequently looses it's connection with the memory card (have tried several cards). This results in no recording when you need it (core function). There's really nothing good about it other than the picture when it works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay Away! I should have known better after reading so many negative reviews around the web. The touchscreen monitor is impossible to use. I think calling it a touchscreen is pushing it. Just one of the many clues to stay away from this system. Swann must know this product is bad! There are so many great deals on better technology. I suggest you move on and find them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible product The only thing good about this product was ordering from and returning it to B&H. They were great. The touch screen was almost impossible to work with in order to configure the system. Camera image would drop. Recorded playback was slow and at times not available. Will not purchase a Swann product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not reliable and tried two units I tried two units and both units were defective with different issues after installation and I have spend countless hours troubleshooting and talking to support. 1st unit. Wifi on the 1st unit stopped working and it will only work when wired and support have confirmed that it is a bad wifi and they ask me to send the camera for repair but I have to pay for shipping so I just returned to B&H with prepaid shipping then ordered a 2nd unit - yep I wanted to give it a second chance. 2nd unit. Outdoor mounted camera started acting up after one day, it gets stuck on night mode and the solution was to get my ladder then cover and uncover the lens to reset. If you unplug it during the day it will power on at night mode which is like chrome black and white. so I said if this works indoor then I am ok so I swapped the outdoor with the indoor garage cam and that solved the stuck in night view mode problem. Then after couple of day's, the defective camera is becoming more and more grainy and it got so bad that it would trigger the motion all night even with sensitivity set to low. So this time, I gave up and returned it and didn't even bother calling support. Cons: A bit tricky to set up but I am an IT professional so I was able to get around it. Note that the wifi is not that good. Once I placed the camera outside, I needed to buy a wifi extender and I have to place it pretty close. The other thing is it tends to disconnect every so often and I noticed that it is incrementing the IP address in cycle\round robin. So you will always have some short gap every so often which defeats the recording in motion if something needs to be captured. Even with the extender, the wifi is not reliable. So with all the unreliability issues, I decided to return and did not try a 3rd unit. Note that I have spent time wiring, mounting, un-mounting, unpacking and re-packing for return. what a hassle. The only good thing is the BH cust service. Pros: I became so familiar with the unit in resetting, configuring and set up since I have spent so much time trying to fix it. The other plus is B&H customer server and I got it on deal of day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk, Don't Buy This Product Don't buy this product. One of the camera does not have picture. I spent over two hours with the tech support and he couldn't resolve the issue. An hour later I received an email asking for my contact information so can I send out a replacement camera. My DVR monitor only on for about 5 minutes and it turns off. Had to call tech support again and found out I got a defect monitor. Not happy with the product and I recommend not to buy it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice system, when it works We purchased this security system and it barely works. The HD screen/tablet holds a charge for less than 5 minutes then needs to be plugged back in. The cameras work for about 3 days then need to be reset. The reset button on the camera isn't enough, they need to be disconnected from the power and reconnected. If the tablet loses power or is turned off then the cameras no longer work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good System for the Price I bought this from B&H for about a $200 discount. Paid a little over $100 for it. It was easy to set up. The instructions provided are less than adequate. Had to figure out myself how to get the cell phone app to connect to the camera by entering the correct IP address. Still can't get the second camera to wirelessly connect. Will have to call Swann tech support to find out how to get the second camera to connect wirelessly. But it works when wired. The monitor display is great when the light is adequate. But it starts getting fuzzy with low light right before the light vision kicks in. No problems with downloading or using the program on a desktop. And no problems using the mobile app. I would have liked a little better resolution on the cameras. And I would like the monitor to have a longer default than only 2 minutes before it goes black again. But overall this was a good system for only a little over $100.
