    Canon iPF6400SE reviews

imagePROGRAF iPF6400SE 24" Large Format Inkjet Printer is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs tons of trouble shooting Hi, I bought this printer about 2 years ago. I really wish I didn't. I'm not sure that everyone would have this experience but the software had a lot of issues that took several hours and ultimately the rep suggested we take everything off the computer and reformat it. That was a pain but it worked. We had tons of issues getting Photoshop and the printer to communicate. And tons of issues getting the printer to accept paper. The reps are super nice but we wasted hours on the phone and having people come out. We also learned if you don't use the printer often the ink just disappears. We took a year off out of frustration and finally saved up the almost $900 in new ink only to find out we are out of warranty and it will cost $1000 to have a rep come out. They also require you to buy new ink heads whether you need them or not or they won't come out. How funny is it that they have a problem so frequently that they make you buy ink heads in advance. We are currently looking for a local tech to help us get it working. We spoke to a rep recently over the phone and he couldn't fix the errors troubleshooting he needs to come in person. This could be a potentially good investment if you have tons of free time as it makes beautiful prints but I wish we didn't buy it and we just worked with labs since we have so little to show for it except money loss. I spoke to 3 other photographers who owned this printer and they said if you aren't constantly printing you will be investing a lot of money in printer heads. I am a huge huge Canon fan so it's hard to share this negative review. Wish us luck we are going to try to presevere.
