ZEISS 525633-0000-000 overview

  • 1Description

The 15x56 Conquest HD Binocular from ZEISS is designed to provide optimal performance in all light and weather conditions. Its performance comes from a combination of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and fully multi-coated lenses and prisms. The ED glass corrects for chromatic aberration across the entire field of view, ensuring true color transmission with little to no distortion. Taking full advantage of the large 56mm objectives, the lenses have ZEISS' T* anti-reflective coatings, which minimize light loss and maximize the amount of light getting through the optics. The prisms are phase corrected to increase contrast. These optical coatings and glass produce a binocular that performs well, especially in low-light conditions, with bright high-contrast images and true color transmission across the entire 69° apparent angle of view.

Designed for rigorous use in the field, it is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for water and fogproof performance year-round in all weather conditions. The large center focus wheel is accessible with either hand and easy to use, even with gloves. Rubber armoring on the outside of the body provides a safe and secure non-slip grip in wet or cold conditions and offers protection against drops and impacts. The click-stop twist-up eyecups let you customize your eye relief whether you wear glasses or not. If you're going to be glassing for prolonged periods, the Conquest HD is tripod mountable with the included adapter.

  • 15x magnification
  • Large 56mm objective lenses boost light-gathering ability for improved views in low light, produce a wide exit pupil to limit vignetting, and present a generous field of view
  • Compact Abbe-Koenig roof prism design produces a less folded light path than conventional roof prisms to decrease spherical and chromatic aberration
  • Fully multi-coated with ZEISS' T* anti-reflective coatings for more than 90% light transmission
  • Extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements eliminate chromatic aberration across the entire field of view with little to no distortion
  • Phase-corrected prisms produce high-contrast images with true color saturation
  • LotuTec moisture/abrasion-resistant coating causes moisture, including snow and rain, to bead up and roll off the lens surface
  • Wide 69° apparent angle of view limits the appearance of distracting hand shake that is common when holding high-power optics such as this
  • 241.4-foot field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
  • Closed-bridge configuration provides a solid and steady platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Large slip-resistant center focus wheel is easy to manipulate, even in cold and wet weather or while wearing gloves
  • ±4 right-eye dioptric adjustment enables tack-sharp focus even for those who wear corrective eyewear
  • 57-74mm interpupillary adjustment range
  • Tripod mountable with included adapter
  • Click-stop twist-up eyecups for customized eye relief with or without eyewear
  • Long 18mm eye relief improves viewing comfort and reduces eyestrain, especially during long glassing sessions

    ZEISS 525633-0000-000 reviews

15x56 Conquest HD Binocular is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully made, sturdy, exceptionially clear, and sharp. While shopping for mid priced 15/56 binoculars, I narrowed the list down to four models: Zeiss Conquest HD, Nikon Monarch 5, Steiner HX, and Vortex Kaibab. I read all reviews and viewed all You-Tube videos I could find. Since I did not physically examine any of the binocular models, my decision to buy the Zeiss was subjective. I chose Zeiss because I already have the Zeiss 10/40 ABK's, which are excellent. I also have an array of Zeiss 35MM lenses which are all excellent. The Zeiss Conquest HD binoculars will not disappoint. I can see people in boats on S.F. Bay three miles away drinking beer. During twilight hours, I can see more clearly with the binoculars than with my telephoto lenses. Beautiful product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great in low light, but need a harnass We purchased the 10 x 32 Conquest HD, the little brother of this product first. It has good low light performance, light weight, and sharp imagaes. Nice product for general use, however, for some nature observation they did not provide sufficient magnification. We purchased this product to have greater reach and have not been disappointed. The 15 x 56 should have, and does have, better low light performance than the 10 x 32, but the relative size and weight make this product noticeably heavier and a bit more difficult to use. It also maintains the sharp image quality and is equally adjustable as the 10 x 32, but neither work particularly well with glasses. That is compensated for by the wide range of diopter adjustment available on both units, and the ability to simply twist the top of the eye-piece for either eye to get things setup just right. For daytime use the 15 x 56 requires the harness for handheld viewing because of the weight and size. If you do not use the harness there is noticeable image jitter which for some folks makes this product unworkable for long term use. However, the harness makes it pretty easy to stabilize and, along with a technique of overlapping your fingers when viewing (one hands fingers totally sit on top of the other hand's fingers), provides a workable scheme for extended use. This sounds a bit clumsy, but when combined with the harness the overlapping hands / fingers technique really stabilizes the image. This product is really great for night sky viewing as well as daytime nature viewing. However, you will need to use the tripod mount with a gimbal adapter to allow you to use it on a tripod for night viewing or you will be visiting your chiropractor. Most tripods to not come with a gimbal mount so 'out of the box' the tripod mount adapter provided with this unit will not be too useful unless you are viewing horizontally. There are several gimbal adapters available and they make day use easier and night use very nice, especially if you have a nice 'zero gravity' recliner. Overall the 15 x 56 is a great product, would gladly purchase it again. I feel that the best option is to have a 15 x 56 and a 10 x 32 available, especially if you travel with a significant other. Both products have equal quality images, the big brother just has more reach than the 10 x 32, and really requires use of the shoulder harness to make it much easier to use than just hand-held.
