The RPS Studio CooLED 100 Studio Light from Dot Line uses a single LED to produce the equivalent of approximately 1,000W of incandescent light. The light intensity is adjustable in half stop increments while the color temperature of the light stays a constant daylight-balanced 5,200K (+/- 200K). This LED is rated for 50,000 hours of use; that's equal to running at full power for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for over 25 years. The fixture has an inline switch in its 9.8' power cord and comes with an 8" reflector with a Bowens-type S-Mount. A full line of light modifiers are available, such as umbrellas and "shower cap" diffusers. The CooLED 100 mounts to any standard 5/8" light stand stud.

question
So BH, where is the A full line of light modifiers are available, such as . . . and shower cap diffusers ? Did not see any in the Accessories tab for this product (other than another brand umbrella).
I have this light...it has a standard Bowens mount, and takes my speedrings and umbrella reflectors no problem. The Bowens snoot doesn't quite fit, but if I shaved a bit off of one tab, it would click in there fine.

question
Does anyone know the dimensions of the actual product? The width is obviously 8 since that's the stated size of the reflector. Anyone know the length?
With the reflector, it is about 15 long.

question
I have umbrellas, but what would be a good soft box that would mount directly up to this light? Round or octa 36 inch preferred. Do I need an adapter?
Hi David,I use Impact Luxbanx Duo Small Octagonal Softbox (36 ) that includes free Impact Fabric Grid for Small Octagonal Luxbanx (36 ) and I bought the Impact Speed Ring for Impact, Bowens S, Westcott that fit well with this light. Impacts products are well built and I like them a lot. Here are the links:Softbox: <a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/889688-REG/impact_lb_od_s_luxbanx_duo_small_octagonal.html target= _blank >http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/889688-REG/impact_lb_od_s_luxbanx_duo_small_octagonal.html</a>Speedring: <a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/884606-REG/impact_sr_imp_speed_ring_for_impact_bowens_westcott.html target= _blank >http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/884606-REG/impact_sr_imp_speed_ring_for_impact_bowens_westcott.html</a>If you want a cheaper solution, then go for the below Fotodiox Pro Softbox 32x48 with Speedring for Bowens Gemini Standard softbox but this is not round unfortunately and I hope you can find one on amazon once you see this. I can't put the link of other site here but you can google it.I use both of the above soft boxes and I can't complain. :)

question
Can this go against window lighting? Or would the 200w be safer? I'd be shooting at 2.8 mostly.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say against window lighting ...?If you're asking if you can place this against a piece of glass without causing any problems with heat...I say yes...All the cooling is built into the back side of the light... it circulates around the large LED just behind the end of the reflector base... the front stays relatively cool.I don't believe you'll get it close enough to actually create a seal against the glass, so you'll have enough space on one or more edges of the reflector to let air circulate (through simple convection) inside the reflector and between the glass...additionally, the opening behind the reflector isn't air tight either, so it will suck in (or blow out) air from the reflector side... the danger of any heat bulid-up inside the reflector cone agsints any surface is quite small, in my opinion...* * *I hope this helped... IF I understood the question at all. . . (sigh)...Let me know if I didn't make any sense at all... LOL

question
Would this work with a Soft Lighter 46 ?
While a LED light can produce less physical heat versus a tungsten fixture can, containing this LED light with a Photek Softlighter without proper ventilation can be a hazard, therefore we cannot recommend this set up.

question
Does this work for photography? Such as if you changing to higher speed shutters 400+, would you ever get lines?
I'm sorry, I don't use it for photography. I only use it for shooting videos.

question
Does this use a ballast? Is this the same as the Fotodiox 100WA LED?
It's not a fluorescent light, so it doesn't use a ballast. It's an LED, so it has a Led driver, and heat sink.
