Leupold Mark AR overview

  • 1Description

With exposed tactical P5 elevation turrets that are optimized for .223 Remington, the matte black Mark AR MOD 1 1.5-4x20 Riflescope from Leupold is designed for short-to-medium-range shooting and features a Duplex Reticle. The optical system offers 1.5-3.9x actual magnification, Mulitcoat 4 anti-glare coatings that reduce glare and enhance transmission, and a linear field of view range of 73-29.3' at 100 yd. To help you compensate for wind drift and ballistic bullet drop, the scope offers a 125 MOA windage and elevation adjustment range with a 1/10 mil impact point correction.

The Duplex Reticle is defined by heavy posts and a thin crosshair that are visible well on any background or in twilight. Because of its location in the second focal plane, the reticle will remain the same in size as you change zoom factor.

The aluminum housing is lightweight and durable, waterproof, and argon-krypton-filled fogproof. It is compatible with 1" riflescope mounting rings and has a lockable fast focus eyepiece with a low profile tactile zoom lever that helps you with an instant one-finger zoom adjustment.

    Leupold Mark AR reviews

Mark AR MOD 1 1.5-4x20 Riflescope (Duplex Reticle) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Scope I recently purchased the Mark AR Mod 1 1.5-4x20mm, and I couldn't be more pleased with it's performance so far. I mounted the scope to my Daniel Defense MK 18 SBR, also running a SilencerCo Saker 556 suppressor, and the results are fantastic. After a short range trip to zero the scope, I was quickly shooting less that 1-inch groupings at 100 yards. The best group of the day was much less than 1-inch. Scope was easy to zero, the clarity of the optic is better than any I've seen, and the scope and mount seem durable enough to handle anything I throw it's way. This is my first Leupold scope, but will definitely not be my last! Can't wait to take this out in the field for coyote hunting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Optic for Service Rifle Bought the 1.5x4 Mark AR over the winter to use in the new EIC/high power rules allowing optics in Service rifle competition. So far, have fired 3 matches. 2 full course to 600 and one 300m reduced. Adjustments track true and hold, optics very clear. Am able to spot, correct and fire quickly in good conditions without breaking position to look through a spotting scope. Parallax is an issue at 600 yards. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I would like to see Leupold come out with a more service rifle specific scope. I think it would be popular with LR varmint and hobby shooters as well. Mil dot or MOA dot reticle, fixed 4x, calibrated for 77 gr SMK, adjustable parallax or parallax set for 300 yards would do. You'd have a hit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, practical range, well balanced My 1.5-4x AR sits on my full stock CZ bolt rifle, 9.3x62mm. The rifle shoots into an inch @100m off a bench, the scope seems to take the recoil better than me. Hunting, it shines for quick acquisition, I leave it on 2.5x a lot but dial it up and shown for bush or clearings. I hunt deer in Grizzly country so this scope and rifle are a well balanced effective combo. Only complaint: the zoom is quite stiff in cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Period I know this scope is sold as a AR type optic but their missing a large hunting market. The green dot is vivid to say the least. Mounting this unit on a Henry 45-70 All Weather is the perfect package woods/brush gun. In the thick "stuff" you don't need any more X power. The green is instant acquisition and so bright. I do have a couple of other high $$$$$$$ Leupold Red optics. Just don't compare, good YES, but the green option is by far the best. Going to contact service with a "can you update" from red to green. Only wish they produced one with long eye relief so I could mount on a S&W 460 XVR. Added a BDC turret, "0" at 100 taken deer at 175 a bit out there for my area, 50-75 typical more typical. This scope will take a hit, over 100 rounds never losing "0" a 45-70 will pack a wallop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and clear as a bell I bought this Mark AR MOD 1 1.5-4x20mm about a month ago, zeroed it at 100 yrds. I like the knobs no caps to lose. It holds zero very well and it can take the recoil. I have it mounted on R-Guns AR with a heavy 20 inch barrel. A little heavy but it is a real tack driver with the addition of the Mark AR MOD scope. The glass is so clear a real winner and the light weight of this scope is a real plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Won't look back This is my first Leupold scope and will certainly not be my last. After researching a competitor's similar, less expensive offering in this category and deciding that's what I would buy I changed my mind after looking through this scope in a local store and learning about the Firedot option online. You'll find edge to edge image sharpness and perfect clarity, this is noticeably superior glass and warranty. The all around quality of Leupold has earned my loyalty going forward and I won't look back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of set up & use I bought an AR mod 1, 1.5-4x20 for my MP 15. Awesome. I liked it so much I bought another on to put on my CZ 7.62x39 carbine. The green dot is absolutely great for deer hunting. The green dot is also great for an old man with tired eyes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my most useful scopes I've had this scope (the illuminated reticle version) for a few years, and it's been one of my most useful-- from 3-Gun to hunting deer and hogs. It sits on an AR carbine; the lightness and compactness adds to the portability of the rig.
