    Ocean Matrix OMX-HDMI-2-IP reviews

HDMI Over IP Extender / Converter is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works! Keep it OFF your network, though This thing works like a charm and moved pristine, 1080p video over my plain ol' unshielded Cat5 more than 200 feet. That's the good news. The BAD news is, don't think you can run this through your network and get it to play along with the rest of your network traffic-- as it says it should-- and expect it to work. This is (obviously) a bandwidth hog. The video was perfect, but it made the rest of my network unusable, knocking down speeds to less than 2mbps down and less than 1 up while it was runnin. Perhaps it's my network configuration, but I don't think so.In the end, I used this in a point-to-point configuration on its own dedicated cable, and it works perfectly, right up to 1080p-- but using it this way is not what made me want it in the first place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running Digital Signage With No Problems We have 2 TVs in a High School that we use for digital signage. We had used other vga over ethernet adapters but we ran into picture quality issues. Using these with an additional receiver we were able to hook these up to our network switch and had no issues. Picture and audio quality is perfect. Since we use managed network switches we created its own VLAN for 3 ports so other network traffic was not effected. If you don't use managed switches buy a cheap $40 5 port switch and it's a plug and play installation. I like the suggestion from another reviewer about having these devices having the option for power over ethernet. Anything that doesn't require a separate power adapter is handy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't Settle For Less Glad to find a versatile solution to extend HDMI over Ethernet. Currently using it as point-to-point configuration with no special set up. Plugged it in and the image came right up. No attenuation compensation needed. Nice that it only requires one Ethernet run. Still couldn't get a fifth star from me. It would be nice if the receiver could use Power Over Ethernet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great combo So far these device have about 6 hours on them. The video & audio are fantastic. I wish I had a device that told me how long the Cat 6 cable was between the 2 devices. It is long and must be close to maximum range. I did not think I would find something that could span the distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plug & Play Put a laptop input box on the front of stage and ran a 150' cat 6 cable up to new Epson protector in booth and presto instant success! Great price and B&H fast shipping.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not compatible with Blackmagic Design products Bought this to extend the range of an HDMI camera to capture it with a Blackmagic Design Intensity Shuttle USB3. Did not work as the Ocean Matrix extender captures the 1080i60 signal OK but outputs only 1080p60 which the Intensity Shuttle can't capture, only 1080i60. Returned it. Still 3 stars as I'm sure it's a good product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product did not work as advertised We could only get this product to work at a very low resolution (640 x 480), which is really not acceptable for most presentations. Even then the video had plenty of noise. Best to avoid this item. I was not pleased that B&H recommended it. Fortunately, B&H was happy to take it back. We're trying a "StarTech.com HDMI Over CAT5/CAT6" kit and so far - so good!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT Connect to your Network I connected these devices to our corporate network, and it worked as expected EXCEPT they brought our state-of-the-art network to it's "knees" creating multiple connectivity issues across the board. It's possible we received defective units, but in the corporate environment we cannot take that risk again. We will be returning them.
