The ACU6022A ServSwitch KVM (VGA/USB/Audio/Serial) over CATx Single-Access Extender Kit by Black Box, comprised of a local transmitter unit and a remote receiver unit, enables you to place a VGA monitor, a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, and other human interface devices up to 1000' from your PC's CPU (or ServSwitch unit), using a CATx cable (CAT5 or higher). Video resolution goes up to 1600 x 1200 over 650' or 1280 x 1024 over 1000'. The transparent serial port enables you to extend any serial device up to 19.2kbps. Extend one device requiring handshaking lines or up to three simple serial devices with no handshaking. This model also supports 16-bit, digitized stereo audio.
The local unit is connected directly to a PC's CPU (or ServSwitch) using the included extension cable, and the remote monitor, keyboard & mouse are attached to the remote unit. A local VGA monitor can be connected to the local unit. By means of a hotkey command you can switch to private mode, which darkens the local video. To configure the ACU6022A for dual-access operation, connect a keyboard and a mouse to the CPU's USB ports. The extender features emulated DDC on the local unit to ensure compatibility with multi-head graphics cards. The remote unit reads DDC tables from all attached monitors and transfers the data to the local unit, where it is stored to support non-standard displays. Independent low-frequency and high-frequency cable equalization control ensures optimum video tuning across different cable types. Control and video tuning are carried out using the remote keyboard with settings stored in EEPROM memory.
In most applications, the local unit draws its power from the USB interface but, if necessary, it also can be powered externally by an optional power supply (PSU1006E-R3). The remote unit is powered by the included external power supply. Compact in design, the extender units fit easily on a desktop. Three units can be rackmounted in 1RU of space within a 19" standard cabinet or rack using the optional rackmount kit (RMK19U-X3).
