The 2 x 1 HDMI Switch with 3.5mm Audio and Serial Control from Black Box allows you to connect two devices to a single HDMI display, supports up to 1920 x 1080 resolution, and can pass separate stereo analog audio along with the HDMI video. The separate audio is handled via 3.5mm mini jack audio connectors paired with each HDMI port. This feature is useful for sources, such as computers with DVI outputs, that, for whatever reason, do not supply an audio signal embedded in the HDMI stream. The analog audio simply passes through, and will not be embedded or de-embedded to or from the HDMI signals; additionally the audio input cannot be switched independently of its associated HDMI input.
The switcher can be controlled using front-panel buttons, the included IR remote, or RS-232. RS-232 serial control is via a 2.5mm sub-mini port, and allows the device to be linked with automation systems such as Crestron or remotely controlled using a custom-developed software application.
Supports VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, and UXGA computer resolutions, too
HDMI 1.3 and HDCP 1.1 compliant for protected content such as commercial Blu-ray discs
DDC2B-compatible for communication with displays that have display data channel support
LEDs indicate which HDMI/audio input is currently active
Eliminates the need to plug and unplug whenever going from one device to another
Bidirectional control signal transfer on serial port
Supports unidirectional audio on 3.5mm mini jack connectors
