The 2 x 4 Rackmountable HDMI Switcher from Black Box is a matrix that routes up to 2 to up to 4 displays. This can be configured however you like: a single input can be mapped to a single output; or one output can be distributed across two or more outputs. It supports up to 1080p resolution with EDID detection being used to obtain the highest common resolution shared among the connected displays. This means if both a 1080i and a 720p TV are connected the output resolution to both TVs will be automatically set to 720p.
The 2 x 4 Rackmountable HDMI Switcher can be controlled locally using either front panel buttons of the included IR remote, or it can be operated via an automation system or remotely using its RS-232 interface.
An input source LED tells you at a glance each output you've selected
The IR extension port with included IR receiver allows you to operate the unit from another room, as far as 984 feet away
HDMI 1.3 and HDCP compliant with support for 12-bit Deep Color
Supports multi-channel audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD
Supports 3D pass-through
Signal boosters on output make extended cable runs of up to 60' (depending on the quality of the cable and the presence of sources of interference)

When connecting outputs to both displays and AV receivers, the audio output will only be stereo because of the limitations of the display. In addition, the switch will determine the resolution of all connected displays and output at the resolution of the lowest display. For example: If you have both a 1080p LCD and a 720p LCD connected, the output to both will be 720p.
