The Gemini 500R Monolight from Bowens is an ideal choice for both studio and location photography. A classic, dial-oriented design gives immediate access and control to 500Ws of power variable over a 5-stop range. Control of the bright 250W modeling lamp is equally intuitive allowing you to select output that's proportional to the flash power level, full on for easy focus, user selected light level and off. Monitor your settings on the large digital readout. The 500R recycles in 1.3 seconds to full power and alerts you with an audible beep and ready light.

Unfortunately, these monolights are only compatible in 90-130 VAC. A multi-voltage option for use in 240VAC is the Bowens XMS500 2-Light Flash Kit B&H # BOBW5330.

If you are referring to the flash duration, Bowens only lists the flash duration at the highest power setting which is 1/900 of a sec.

There is no high speed sync available on this unit. The maximum sync speed would be dependent on your camera.

I have enough light stands and umbrellas. So can you substitute them for two Bowen S mount softboxes 24x36 and 8X36 if I buy this kit?
I don't believe so.. because the bowers Gemini 500R comes as that kit already. You would have to purchase that separately. The other choice is to buy the next generation bowens kit. I hope this helps?

High speed sync? No.However using pocket wizards you can achieve Hypersynch of shutter speeds above that. Course how high you can go will depend on your camera and it's shutter. Pocket Wizard has a wiki that goes into details.

Yes the heads in that kit are the Gemini 500R Monolight and they can be powered from AC mains or with the Travelpak battery.

Can the Bowens Gemini 500r capable of performing High Speed Sync over 250 seconds?
Unfortunately, the Bowens Gemini does not offer high speed sync capability. To work in high speed sync over 1/250 of a second, you may want to consider the Interfit S1 monolight, B&H # INS1. Besides this feature, the monolight also offers TTL functions with the help of the S1 TTL Remote for Nikon or Canon. Please see the image below.
