I use this filter for getting the smoothed-out look in streams and at the beach. It's a great filter to have in your pack.

I have not had the chance to use this yet - waiting for spring to arrive. But I do own and have used the Lee Big stopper. It is a fabulous filter, does what it's designed to do and does not impart any colour cast. The people that do get a hint of that may be setting the wrong WB in-camera. Lee filters are top of the line. One can't go wrong investing in them.

Great In Low Light!

The little stopper filter works great in low light for those long exposers in the morning time or at sunset. Also for cloudy days when you need to cut the light a little for the effect you're looking for. You do get a little blue tint to the image, but it's easily fixed in Lightroom with just a click.

Well made, minimal color cast

While my longer exposures often result in a conversion to B&W, I do start the processing of each image in color to see if I some compositions work in color. The exposure shift is very close to the rated value and the color cast is modest and easy to handle in a raw image. Highly recommend this filter.

question

Will this filter fit inside a standard mattebox 4x4 tray? We use the Genus Matte Box Lite and use Tiffin 4x4 filters without a problem, however the Tiffin 1,8 ND is twice the price of the Lee filter. The Lee filter has foam around the sides and is thinner than the Tiffin which is 4mm thick... so not sure it was meant for use in a matte box like the Genus. Thx for your help.
Asked by: Claude
It will fit but be a somewhat tight fit because of the foam on the filter.

The LEE Filters Foundation Kit (Standard 4x4 , 4x6 Filter Holder) (Requires Adapter Ring), B&H # LEFK, and the LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 72mm B&H # LEAR72, would allow you to connect the above filter to the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 G OSS Lens for your needs.

question

For video, if shooting at 1/50th shutter speed and the lowest ISO, what f-stop can this get you at?
Asked by: Patrick B.
Unfortunately, there is no way to determine that without knowing the ambient light level. We would need to know your current working aperture (f/stop) in order to determine the final working aperture.

question

The In the Box tab states that this Little Stopper comes with a soft pouch. The Big Stopper comes in a hard case to protect the glass (compared to Lee resin filters). Do you know whether this glass Little Stopper actually comes with a hard case or a soft pouch? And, if it's soft pouch, is that enough to protect the glass? Thanks!
Asked by: Anonymous
The LEE Filters Little Stopper comes in a protective tin case.
