Samyang 8mm f/2.8 Fisheye II Overview

The Canon EF-M mount Samyang 8mm f/2.8 UMC Fisheye II Lens is a prime fisheye lens specifically designed for APS-C sized image sensors. Providing a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 12.8mm and full 180° angle of view, this lens is well-suited for creative applications as well as interior and architectural subjects. Its fast f/2.8 maximum aperture is further beneficial to working in low-light conditions.

Three extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements have been incorporated into the optical design to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion in order to produce sharper images. Additionally, the lens' design features a built-in lens hood and a UMC coating has been applied to the lens elements to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery.

180° fisheye lens provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 12.8mm, making it ideally suited for interior and architectural subjects.
Fast f/2.8 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions.

It does the job in a great way. I use it to do virtual tour and it a great fit. If you need a fisheye lence for fuji cameras I recommend it.

This lens is great, especially for the price, I would highly recommend it. I shoot a lot of action sports photos and videos and it works great to highlight the subject and the background in one.

It's a nice little lens that is reasonably sharp. It works great with the Fuji cameras because it's easy to set the focus to get pretty well everything in focus.

This is the second Samyang lens I have purchased, and I am extremely impressed with the quality of these lenses. Yes, they are not built as heavy-duty as some of the bigger name brands, but that is reflected in the cost. What is not reflected is how good they really are - they are wicked sharp, extremely compact in size and just work perfectly. As to the build, unless you're planning on juggling (and dropping) your lenses - they should work fine for those of us that take care of our gear. Overall in my experience so far with this lens - it's great!

I'm having trouble getting my Canon EOS-M shoot when this lens is attached. I think I should change something in the camera setup, but I have no idea where ... When I bought it, then in BH, went through the same problem with my Canon EOS-M3, but the guys at Canon stand after a few minutes,They managed to find the way of configuration. This lens is designed for APS-C sensor cameras. The A7 is full frame. This lens would produce a cropped image on a full frame Sony camera.

I want to use this lens on my A6500 in my water housing and am not sure if it is going to fit in the port. Do you know if the dimensions given in the specifications for the length measure to the end of the lens hood? Thank you
