Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 Overview

The black, Sony E-Mount Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens is a prime wide-angle lens designed specifically for use with APS-C sized image sensors. Providing a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 18mm and a broad 98.9° angle of view, this lens is well-suited for architectural, interior, and landscape images. Its fast f/2.0 maximum aperture is further beneficial to working in low-light conditions.

Three extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements have been incorporated into the optical design to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion in order to produce sharper images. Additionally, a Nano Coating System (NCS) has been applied to the lens elements in order to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery

When using this lens, I get black corners in my pictures, it looks like I am looking thru a tube, is there something wrong with lens, or am I doing something wrong? The viewfinder also shows this black distortion.

This lens is designed for cameras with an APS-C size sensor. If your camera is full frame, like the Sony A7 series, it will vignette.

Will this lens work on the Sony A7II?

Yes, the Rokinon 12mm f/2.0 NCS CS Lens for Sony E Mount (Black) is compatible and can be used on the Sony Alpha a7II Mirrorless Digital Camera. However, do note that as the Sony Alpha a7II Mirrorless Digital Camera uses a full-frame sensor, and the Rokinon 12mm f/2 lens is designed for use on APS-C sensors, to use the lens with the proper APS-C framing, it will crop the camera's resolution from 24 megapixels down to 10 megapixels. You can use the lens in full-frame mode, but there will be black vignetting on the outside of the image where the rear of the lens blocks light from reaching the sensor during exposure.
