Fast and versatile, the Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 ASPH. from Panasonic is a 30mm equivalent wide-angle lens for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. Its bright f/1.7 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and also avails greater control over the focus position for shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques. Intuitive control over the aperture selection is also possible through the use of the manual aperture ring. In regard to focus, an internal focusing system with a stepping AF motor promotes fast, quiet, and smooth performance. The optical design incorporates three aspherical elements to reduce distortion and spherical aberration for sharper imagery with greater overall clarity. Additionally, a Nano Surface Coating has been applied to lens elements to suppress lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich, color-neutral photos and movies.

Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 Reviews
15 mm f/1.7 DG Summilux lens
amazing lens i love it
Excellent Prime Lens
I purchased this lens actually to use in model photography in order to provide more background area than what I was normally getting with my 50mm. Used this lens extensively for the first time a few days ago. Very pleased with the images. I can easily foresee this lens being well used.
Great Product and Great Service
I had my eye on the Olympus 17mm lens for some time, but I was able to fit the Leica 15mm into my budget. I couldn’t be more pleased. The build quality is fantastic, and the included hood (metal) was a very nice touch. It’s not a pancake lens, but it is very small. I plan on using this as my “standard” walking around lens on my G9 and its G7 backup. Of course, B&H threw in a nice lens care kit. I’ve never been more pleased with a vendor than B&H.
love this lens
It is tiny, well built, super sharp(even wide open), great colors...what else could you want. I had the DJI branded version of this previously (same lens, just branded with DJI name and packaged with zenmuse x5 drone camera) and used that for several years with my Olympus em5 mark ii. Loved that lens. However, the DJI version doesn't autofocus properly with cameras like the Olympus em1 mark ii and em5 Mark III that have phase detect autofocus (when shooting in c-af) so I had to sell that lens and purchase the Panasonic version. Love it. Focuses insanely fast and precise on my new em5 Mark III and makes lovely images. Highly recommend.
Its Leica
Worth spending the extra bucks over other plasticki mft lenses, feels like the a real lens, good with managing the focus.
Great for gh5
Great color, focusing!!! I am very satisfied!
My favorite lens for the DC-G9.
Perfect lens when I am walking around. Love my Leica cameras, but this lens on the DC-G9 is just an enjoyable experience. Never get into the technical side of things, I just enjoy shooting photos.
It should cost more, but don't tell anyone
We generally pay too much for what really pleases us, but this jewel made a big impression on me. It feels, smells, and runs as the F1 of lenses. I compared with the Lumix DC-GX9 for my sketch pad camera and it gives so much joy that some of the photos have become my favorites, especially because I use it in manual mode but just in case for street photography to keep it in my coat pocket—the auto focus is very handy. I often use ND filters and it is very difficult to use the original lens shade so I placed the filter on the Artisan 46 vented hood and now it is a perfect match.
