Litepanels AC for Sola 6, Inca 6, and Astra 1... Reviews
EXPENSIVE but does the job
There is no reason this power supply needs to be this pricey -- I can buy a whole Astra used for this amount. That said, the original power supply died randomly after a year of -light- use. As others have said, these are not the most reliable, but I made the choice to buy one as the light itself is still useful in everyday production.
Works fine bit too expensive.
Works fine but too expensive. It is a 24 volt power supply so difficult to find cheaper alternative.
Ridiculously expensive for a lousy AC adapter
As far as I can the only thing that makes this power supply worth more than $40 bucks is the XLR connector. And in my experience, the XLR connector is the weakest part of this particular power supply. I've had multiple units fail because of faulty/worn wiring inside the XLR elbow. The last one I had just shorted out (bonus for the sparking) and another is intermittent and on its way to failing as well. Hoping the two replacements I just ordered last longer. Strange that lightpanels would continue to use such a poorly made unit for the power supply bc the light panels themselves are well constructed.
Works as it should but too expensive!
Overpriced for what it is.
Fixed my problem but pricey
It's a good replacement for the original power supply and installs easily but this is a ridiculous price for a power supply. There is no reason this shouldn't be $50 or so.
Second one I've had to replace in less than 2 years.
I'm only buying this because the one that came with the kit (Astra 1x1) failed. Otherwise I wouldn't need to buy, and therefore would not be writing this review.
Broke in less than a year
These power banks are extremely expensive for what they are. I had to replace both original power banks on my Astra 6x panels. After one year the replacements are now malfunctioning and need to be replaced. Extremely frustrating. The lights need to be repaired but I'm not even sure if it is worth it anymore.
Stopped working almost immediately
Bought this Power supply to replace a lost one. Tried it out after it was delivered and everything worked fine. Packed it up, flew to another state for a shoot and after landing, it was just a paperweight. no idea what caused it.
