I plug the unit into a USB 2.0 port on my desktop. The drive flashes on, then off, w/o recognition by the desktop. I buy a USB Y cable w/a Micro B connection, and find that connection too small for the USB port on the rewriter. What do you recommend?

Stick with a name brand, don't buy cheap discs. I like Verbatim but there are other good manufacturers out there.
