Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect size for APSC & super 35 cameras This is a 5 star product, for the price I can't think of anything more I would want... well maybe have the top flag fold down flat like the sides do for transport (top needs to come off to go in case) Its built almost perfect, ridged no loose parts and very LIGHT WEIGHT... as an assistant I have used (rental house) high end matte boxes and while they are built more solid (aluminum and carbon) they are still just as broken if dropped so I really don't see the need for a box with lots of metal in it. Actually the ABS flags on this are better than metal... no paint to scratch and won't need bending back flat all the time.Great range of adjustability, goes just as high as my larger boxes (Tilta and Kamerar) but can be set much lower and closer to the 15mm rails *see images on the larger Sony FS100 its almost as low as it can go and on the smaller Panasonic Gh4 I have it almost up as high as it will go* its small, so I don't think you can go much wider than 18m-24mm on a super 35 or APSC camera and 12mm was the limit with the Panasonic GH4 in 4k UHD mode with a big 77mm diameter lens I know this was probably made for tiny sensor camcorders but if they removed one filter tray you would be able to go as wide able as you wanted with super 35 and possibly even full frame still camera size3x3 filters are a little harder to get but much cheaper than the 4x4 normal size and I only ever need a few in 4x4 (grad and a couple solid NDs anyway) One of the main reasons I bought this was my variable ND glared and reflected pretty bad outside or in bright window light and my fixed screw in ND filters have very little or no front threads so I couldn't use a hood... now I screw them on and slide the matte box on for lens shade (works MUCH better than tiny wide angle lens hoods) and either a 77mm diameter lens or a small lens with a step up ring to 77mm (with to without hood) just fits so I do not even need the skirt to cover the gap It shouldn't matter but I always thought a giant matte box looked silly on new smaller cameras.... seems like everything has changed except the size of boxes they are still made for 90 pound movie film cameras from the 1980's, this little guy is a much better fitI will test it on a full frame still camera to see how wide you can go and post another review but for now I am guessing around 30mm so its probably not the best option for those.... mice 4/3, APSC, and super 35 this is the one to buy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for money I use this matte box with a BMPCC. It is a nice size and well matched to that camera. It seems reasonably sturdy for its very light weight. Tightening and loosening the flags seems trouble free and I haven't really had any negative issues with this product. I didn't get it with the optional swing away arm piece but, having used the matte box for a while, that is probably an investment worth making, simply for the convenience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Matte Box! Here is a real matte box. The right size and weight for small modern cameras. There are, to be fair, a couple of small annoyances, but they are easily overcome with some minor engineering. Considering that no two camera systems are identical, Cavision has done a great job. Two filter slots are enough (one rotates), the flags are fine and work well. Donuts would be good, but can be made; the nun's knickers are OK for most lenses. I had used this on a shoot, loved it, bought one...and will by another...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks like it would've worked I returned it within two days, but it probably would've worked for a little while. The thing that stuck out to me was the cheap construction. Hinges and other point of movement (flag extension) just seemed like it wouldn't last a year. I'm always in the field and my equipment is transported/setup/torn down dozens of times per year. I just had a bad feeling that this wouldn't last more than a dozen shoots without something breaking. If you're going to set it up once, say in a studio, then you're probably going to be fine. Other than that, I suggest finding something a lot more durable (expensive).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with it. Despite being largely of ABS construction, this matte box is surprisingly sturdy. Everything locks and tightens firmly and stays in place during use. So far I'm very impressed with this unit, it provides affordable, light weight light control, ideal for cameras with lenses up to 85mm diameter. Also, I'm from the UK and it arrived from the USA in less than a week. Many thanks B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cavision 3x3 Matte Box Good size and fit for a DSLR video rig. Can be used with a 15mm rail system or attached to the camera lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Perfect I use it on a Canon 24 to 70mm zoom lens, mounted on a slider with a sony a7s II. you can either attach it to a rail system or as a clamp-on to the lens. If you are going to use it in a portable setup I would only recommend using it with a rail system, the clamp on is good if you are not moving around much.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Second best After ordering this matte box and a $$M3 matte box, I prefer the M3 because it is larger (4 x 4). Also has two filter slots, one rotating. The design of the CAVision does not allow the top and side shades to make full contact. The M3 does. One modification to the M3: I spray painted the inside surfaces of the shades matte black vs. semi-gloss as received. Used with AG-DVX200
