Vivitek D552 overview

  • 1Description

The D552 SVGA Portable Multimedia Projector from Vivitek is designed for uses ranging from a permanent ceiling mount to simple desk placement. It features a brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens in normal mode and has a native resolution of 800 x 600 (SVGA). In addition to SVGA, it will support a range of non-native resolutions through scaling up to Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution for video and UXGA (1600 x 1200) resolution for computer sources. The D552 features two VGA inputs for computers and analog HD sources, and composite and S-video inputs SD video devices. There is also a VGA output that mirrors the VGA input so that you can also connect a computer monitor or other downstream device. To handle audio, there is a dedicated analog audio input and a 2 watt internal mono speaker. In case you want to connect to separate amplified speakers or a sound system, there is also an analog audio output. An RS-232C port is provided for control from a computer using custom software or via a third-party automation system such as Crestron. A Kensington lock port allows you to secure the projector with a cable lock - available separately - for added safety when using it a trade show, leaving it unattended in a conference room, or other contexts where theft is a concern.

Single Chip DLP Technology
Uses a combination of a chip covered in millions of micro-mirrors and a color wheel to produce an image. DLP features less spacing between pixels and better contrast than many comparable LCD-based systems, and the design does not require a filter that needs to be replaced
3000 Lumens Lamp
A single lamp provides 3000 lumens brightness in normal mode, and is estimated to last 5000 hours (6000 in the lower-brightness Eco Mode). To determine the ideal brightness level for your application, you will need to take into account the screen width, distance from the projector to the screen (throw distance), amount of ambient light near the screen, and the reflectivity (gain) of the screen surface used
1.92 to 2.14:1 Throw Ratio
The throw ratio is the ratio of the distance from the projector to the screen to the width of the screen. For example, if placed 10' from the screen at the 1.92:1 zoom setting, this projector will throw a 5.2'-wide image. It is important to take into account this ratio when selecting a projector to ensure the model you choose will throw the desired image size when installed or placed at a given distance
4:3 Native Aspect Ratio
This projector features the SVGA format, a 4:3 aspect ratio picture optimal for PowerPoint presentations and many still images formats. The wider 16:9 HDTV and 16:10 computer aspect ratios can still be displayed - either by cropping the sides of the image, "letterboxing" (filling the remaining space with black bars top and bottom), or applying an anamorphic squeeze which distorts the picture
BrilliantColor Technology
From Texas Instruments - is a multi-color processing technology that uses up to six colors, instead of just the three primary colors - red, green and blue - to improve color accuracy and brighten secondary colors
32 dB Noise in Eco Mode
The cooling system generates around 35 dB in Standard Mode and 32 dB in Eco Mode
