The Radeon R7 240 Graphics Card from XFX Force features a low-profile, dual slot form factor and includes drivers for Windows. The card may be used for gaming and other applications that require or benefit from the extended processing power dedicated GPU can provide.

The GPU features a base core clock speed of 730 MHz, which can be boosted (overclocked) up to 780 MHz. It incorporates 320 stream processors, which not only act as general purpose shaders to render display graphics, they also allow GPU-aware applications that support GPU acceleration to perform dozens of computations simultaneously. To help move data to and from the card as efficiently as possible, it features 4GB of 1300 MHz (effective) DDR3 RAM over a 128-bit memory interface.

The Radeon R7 240 can be connected to a variety of display types. These include computer monitors, HDTVs, projectors, and certain 4K and 3D devices. It features a DVI-D (digital only) single-link port, an HDMI port with HDMI 1.4a support, and a VGA port. Through HDMI it is possible to drive displays that have up to 4096 x 2160 (DCI 4K) resolution.

PCI Express 3.0 x16 Support
Provides twice the bandwidth of PCI Express 2.0; for example, an x8 PCI Express 3.0 slot has the same bandwidth as a x16 PCI 2.0 slot. In addition, the card remains backward-compatible with motherboards using earlier generations of PCI Express
Dual Data Rate DDR3 RAM
Because DDR3 RAM transfers data at two words per cycle, as opposed to one word per cycle with traditional RAM, the effective data rate is doubled. This allows the card to process data transactions as quickly as if it had a 1300 MHz memory clock speed. Additionally, AMD HyperMemory technology places a small cache after the PCI-E interface to help compensate for the fact system RAM is generally slower than graphics memory
