question

So if you can only use hp probe to calibrate its monitor using their internal software. If i use other program like ArgyllCMS can i still assess hp BT. 709 color space or only with hp probe Thanks?
Asked by: enko p.
I have only used the HP calibrator and have had my monitor for almost a year now. I will say that the color never looked right to me anyway, even after calibration.

question

Does Hp offers calibration software for osx? i see on the hp website that they do is this correct? And will my i1display pro probe work with it? Thanks
Asked by: enko p.
Hp does offer the software for dream color displays. However what I found is that you need a special i1 display probe that is specifically designed to work with the dream color display. The prob you have doesn't work. The software doesn't recognize it.

question

I want to connect new macbook pro (mid 2014) to the dreamcolor z24x to use as a reference monitor with Resolve. I am really confused as to what I need for the connections. Will the Blackmagic ultrastudio mini monitor work? What else would I need. Thanks!
Asked by: Laura M.
I use the monitor with a high-powered Asus PC for all my Adobe photography apps. Great color representation and it serves my needs completely, but I know this is not answering your question.

question

I'm wondering how many of you have noticed the magenta cast. 2 references in the reviews here alone. I purchased one and it has magenta blotchiness on the left side. A review I read somewhere else said this had been an issue with units manufactured prior to June 2014 but the issue had been fixed for anything after that date. A calibration report that came with mine had a date of October 2014. I assume calibration takes place immediately upon completion of manufacturing but the issue is definitely there. That said it otherwise seems to be a great monitor. Rich, vibrant colours. Am I expecting too much for a monitor at this price point? I'm considering returning for a Dell U2413. Thanks for any feedback on this.
Asked by: Jase
No magenta cast. A touch of shadow in the bottom right corner, but a great monitor overall.

question

What is the difference to this hp display?<a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1010658-REG/hp_gv546a4_aba_hp_lp2480zx_24.html target= _blank >http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1010658-REG/hp_gv546a4_aba_hp_lp2480zx_24.html</a>
Asked by: jan s.
I had the same question. I dug through all the specs on both monitors and as best as I could tell, they were identical in gamut and contrast ratio and any other important measures. I assumed at the time that the LP2480zx was a newer model and the older Z24x would be phased out when it was out of stock. However, they still seem to be around so I don't really know. there does seem to be a cost savings with the Z24x which is why I went that route. So far its been a good monitor.

question

Is this compatible with my 2014 Mac Book Pro Retina?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it is compatible. You can use your thunderbolt output to the monitor's mini display port or you can use the hdmi output to the monitors hdmi input. Both inputs are 1920x1200 resolution because that's the native resolution of the monitor. If you wanted a little higher resolution, look into the 27 model.
