480GB Mercury Extreme Pro 6G Solid State Drive is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good SSD So far, it's been working great. Have it installed in my Lacie Rugged USB 3.0 / Thunderbolt enclosure (1st version) ... as the original SSD (SanDisk u100 256gb) died. This OWC SSD is formatted as EXFAT so I have the versatility so use it on both Windows and Mac computers. Writing and Reading speeds seem faster than the previous SanDisk SSD, but I haven't done any speed tests on it to verify that. As for the longevity of this, obviously, I'll have to wait to see how long this SSD lasts which hopefully will be a looooong time. Overall, very happy with this purchase ... as B&H has it at a lower price than OWC does. Definitely recommended ... for both this OWC SSD and B&H. B&H definitely ROCKS in pricing and their customer service!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works I use it with a BlackmagicDesign Hyperdeck Shuttle, as it's the recommended SSD when I made the purchase. It works with the Hyperdeck without any problem so far. I believe the speed is sufficient for uncompressed recording at 1080p. I never did the speed test, as single ssd can never compete with an SSD array connected to a discrete controller, which I'm currently using. It provides a space filler to make it thicker, so that the attachment to the Hyperdeck is more secure. Good for field recording.I found one problem with this ssd though. I use a disk host swap bay in my desktop computer. It doesn't recognize this disk sometimes. Not sure why, as it recognizes a Crucial SSD every time. So, I have to sometimes use a USB3 adapter and connect it through USB.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected Installed this into my MacBook Pro 2011 without a hitch. Pretty much, if you can unscrew the bottom of the case you're good to go. Imaged over the OS and programs, and was up and running in under 2 hours total. Startup/shutdown happens in a matter of seconds; Photoshop and Aperture launch significantly faster, and Aperture is much, much more responsive. I opted for the Pro version which has faster incompressible data rates, but I can't say for sure that makes a difference day to day. That said, the drive works flawlessly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small issue with Atomos Samurai Drive seems to work well however the mounting holes are slightly off so that when mounted into the Atomos Samurai carrier it does not fully engange into the drive dock unless you keep pressure to the connector. This is not an issue when used in the recorder however, just the drive dock for off loading the drive. Have an alternate vendor drive that does not have these issues

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great SSD Hard Drive Very easy install. It took me 15min. Once SSD was in I reinstalled from Time Machine 3-4 hours. Installed in a macbook pro 17 mid 2010. I am going to buy another one and install it in the optical bay and run Widows on it. My Mac is 4x faster!!!!
