  • 1Description

With an easy out-of-the-box setup, integrated virus and malware protection, and feature-enhancing updates, the dark mineral blue Chromebox MO75U Desktop Computer from ASUS starts up in seconds and gets you to your favorite websites and apps instantly.

The system is powered by a dual-core 1.7 GHz Intel Core i3-4010U processor. It also has 4GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM, a 16GB solid state drive, two free years of 100GB of cloud storage on Google Drive, a 2-in-1 media card reader, dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. There are also four USB 3.0 ports (two in the front and two in the back), an HDMI port, and a DisplayPort. A VESA mount kit is also included so you can mount the Chromebox on the back of a compatible monitor.

Google Chrome OS is a Linux-based operating system designed by Google to work exclusively with web applications. The ASUS Chromebook combines the aspects of a pure cloud client with the hardware of a traditional portable computer, which puts it in its very own class of netbook and notebook computers.

Chrome OS
Using Linux as a base, Google designed Chrome OS to work exclusively with web applications. The user interface takes a minimalist approach, which greatly resembles the Google Chrome web browser. Chrome OS was built for people who spend a majority, if not all, of their time on the computer connected to the Internet. The only application that comes installed on Chrome OS is a special Google Chrome web browser with an integrated media player and file manager. All other applications are accessed by adding apps from the Google Chrome Web Store. Since Chrome OS relies entirely on Google's web apps and access to Google's services, it is highly recommended that you connect to the Internet to optimize your Chrome OS experience.
Wireless Connectivity
Internet access is very important to the functionality of Chrome OS. That's why the Chromebox offers 802.11a/b/g/n wireless connectivity so you'll have no trouble connecting to wireless networks. There is also Bluetooth 4.0 support so you'll be able to connect wirelessly to compatible Bluetooth devices, such as a wireless keyboard and mouse.
2 Free Years of 100GB of Cloud Storage on Google Drive
While the Chromebox comes with a 16GB solid state drive, it also offers 2 free years on Google Drive with up to 100GB of cloud storage space. With Google Drive, you'll be able to access all your data and files in the cloud by simply logging into your Google account on a compatible device.
VESA Mount
The Chromebox comes with a VESA mount kit so you'll be able to mount the Chromebox to the back of a monitor.
Offline Capabilities
In the past, Chrome OS devices were limited in their use when there was no Internet connection. However, the Chromebox supports a wide range of offline apps so you can edit documents, play games, and use other popular apps even without Internet access.
Personalized Access with Parental Controls
Personalized data access makes the Chromebox a family-friendly device. You'll be able to easily switch between accounts while ensuring each person's data is kept private and secure. The parental controls ensure a safe, family-friendly web surfing experience.
Compact Form Factor
The Chromebox features a compact form factor. Weighing just 1.32 pounds and measuring just 1.65" tall, the Chromebox is designed to save valuable desk space.
Instant On
Whether it's booting up the Chromebox, browsing the web, or performing essential tasks, the Chromebox strives for high-speed performance. With the help of a 16GB solid state drive, the Chromebox skips the unnecessary loading screens and gets you up and running as soon as possible.

    ASUS M075U Reviews

Chromebox M075U Desktop Computer (Dark Mineral Blue) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from crummy keyboard, crummy support The computer works great. I definitely recommend the M075U over the M004U. The speed difference is huge. Do not, though, but this valuing the keyboard at all. All 9 of my systems have bad keyboards. The battery compartment does not make a solid connection. You can rig it to work, but it is not a long lasting fix. The warranty on the keyboards is 30 days. Unfortunately, ASUS and B & H will not help because I did not get to them in the 30 days. The website says one year. I thought I had time. Of the 9 computers, one has one bad USB port. Otherwise they work great if you need a computer for surfing the web and answering email.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast Bought this for my family internet browser. Very fast machine. Only draw back is the printing and having to buy a new monitor. I have older PC that I was planning on using the monitor on the chromebox. I found out it would cost me $ for an adaptor. Decided to buy a 24 inch tv at @ for $ and hooked up the HDMI cable. We now have a nice large monitor for not to bad a price. I would suggest buying a high resolution TV if your going to do this. I'm using an older mac computer to print. Seems to work fine once I figured it out. Also, bought the keyboard and mouse. I decided to put those on my older computer for printing. Keyboard is very small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is surfing the web should be! Got this last week. This is an excellent outstanding addition to my Chromebook. I am able to surf easily while listening to Youtube music...I can print locally, via additional apps/extensions from the web store, and can access my NAS device as well. I was fully functional within a couple of hours without enduring the painful OS updates from W*ndows! Good keyboard and mouse as well. Yes, I am more than satisfied. B&H sent it fast too!!! All in all, one of the best web devices out there! This ASUS box gets 5 stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product As cable TV cord cutters, we ordered this ASUS Chromebox to enable us to watch video, live streamed news and sports, etc. via the Internet. Much easier than hooking up a laptop and long HDMI cable. Enclosed wireless mouse and keyboard a nice plus. As always, the quality of merchandise and service (including shipping) is topnotch at B&H. This is our fourth purchase from B&H, and we have been 100% satisfied each time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best $250 Running off of two monitors this Chromebox has no issue keeping up. I replaced my traditional windows 10 computer with this an couldn't be happier. It's quiet and fast. One of the best purchases I have made in a while. The keyboard has a great feel to it and the mouse as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfect product! love it! Perfect product for my grandma! Easy to use. Really quick to start and close. Little disadvantage: google chrome doesn't offert a lot of free apps like games and extensions.. especially in french. Also it has a small limited storage. But for the rest, I'm really satisfied!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect switch from mac mini I purchased this for my Dad to replace his not-able-to-update, yet-needs-to mac mini. He likes it very much, since all he needs to do it pay bills and check emails. Plus, he can now open word other Microsoft files with the chrome box. Highly recommended for your dads!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Setup I bought this little unit to be able to browse the internet and transfer files from SD cards to external hard drives. So far, it's been working great. Make no mistake, it's a glorified version of the Chrome browser, but that doesn't mean it can't do very much. The one thing I was was available was a Power button on the keyboard, instead of pushing the button on the unit.

Does it have a sound card that works with MONITORS that have no speakers, or must one attach an HDMI TV to get sound?
    Asked by: Anonymous
I use the bluetooth to play sound. There is a 3.5mm jack on the back where you could connect it to the monitor.

Does this machine include an Ethernet cable and slot?
    Asked by: Anonymous
Does include Ethernet slot, not the cable. I hooked up to Ethernet, but found there was virtually no difference in speed vs WiFi. I am very pleased with the Asus Chromebox with I3 processor. Very fast, easy to add additional memory and digital hard drive . It is my go to computer for browsing the internet and email, vs a Toshiba laptop with same browser and a Mac Mini.
