Was working fine, until one day, while I was shooting a commercial, my camera wouldn't turn on anymore. Tried using the original batter... nothing. I'm gonna try to use the Lanparte one instead. When I get my GH4 fixed, that is...

Great Cable for Video Use!

The only thing about this that could almost make it 4 stars is the price. If you use it all the time, then it's worth it. Or if you just use standard GH4 batteries, although they last a long time - this thing will give you days worth of battery. It has a bonus tap on the block to use and also gives you a light signal that you are providing power. The benefit here, unlike the Canon version that connects to the V-mount top is you do not have to slide the whole top of the mount off to disconnect the power. All you have to do is remove the p-tap and you are good and will not drain the battery. Peace of mind for long shoots where batteries can be a headache.

question

Will this work with the GH5S?
Asked by: shane
The GH5s uses the same battery as the GH4. This cable should work well with the GH5S.

question

Do I need to buy some sort of AC adapter for this to work? I just need to power for GH4 for hours at a time and won't be able to switch batteries. Incidentally, I'll need to power an Atomos Ninja Assassin at the same time. Is there an adapter that would power both?
Asked by: Jonathan
The tap cable is to connect to an Anton Bauer or Switronix battery on a base plate that can be either mounted on 15mm rods (requires an adapter or cage for the GH-4) or in some cases on a belt mount. The Atomos sells a P-tap adapter for the Ninja Assassin., The A-B batteries will last a long time on this setup, but they are extremely heavy. In any event you will need an entire rig to handle this. There is an alternative if you are indoors with access to 115vac power. There is another adapter for the GH-4 that connects to AC power, and again the monitor has an AC power adapter that came with it.
