I have an old Adcom GTP-450 Tuner and Adcom ...

I have an old Adcom GTP-450 Tuner and Adcom GFA-535 power amp....the recorder is plugged into the CD port on my Tuner and it plays well....Question is ...I can't get it to RECORD anything from the radio or Record player which has a built in amp. How do I hook it up?? What am I doing wrong??
Asked by: Tim
Tuner/preamp should have an analogue line out. Using RCA type cable plug it in to ANALOG IN on the Recorder. Be sure you choose the proper input with the INPUT SELECT button on the front of the recorder

Is one of the inputs suitable for the line out from old reel-to-reel stereo tape recorder?
Asked by: Robert
If your reel-to-reel outputs are "line-out" at -10 dB (and they probably are) you should be okay. The nominal analog inputs of the CD recorder are also -10 dB. Even though you will be recording analog, you should check the "Digital Volume" option in the RECORD sub-menu. It should be set at 0 dB. It is probably already set for that. (Do you have and Owner's Manual?) When you are ready to record, just connect the R-R output to the CD analog input jacks, select "ANALOG" on the front panel. Press RECORD on the CD recorder, then play the tape. Bring up the 2 input controls until you see your signal at -20 on the recorder front panel meter. Once your level is set, just press PLAY on the recorder. That should work. Good Luck, Robert

Will the Tascam CD-RW900MKII Professional CD Recorder record MP3s? I was just about ready to order one and then I noticed that every time it mentioned MP3s it was talking about playing them not recording them. It seem to be so great, but if it wont record MP3s all it would be to me is a expensive play deck. It's a shame.

I record off of my laptop from my ITunes, Youtube or any other site or my Ipod onto the CD recorder that is hooked into my stereo. I can even record from my record player. Laptop goes into one of the CD ports or AUX ports and CDRecorder goes into another unused port on the receiver. Haven't bought a single song in 2 years. Also record from Spotify. Its great. Buy baby buy.

As long as your DAT player has an analog audio output, you could connect into the RCA inputs on the back of the recorder.
