Azden WMS-PRO + I Overview

The Azden WMS-PRO+i VHF Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System with Handheld Mic for Smartphones is a cost-effective audio solution designed to help vloggers and content creators improve the audio quality in smartphone- or tablet-based video productions.

The lightweight, portable WMS-PRO+i includes an EX-503 lavalier microphone that can be clipped to clothing, close to the speaker's mouth and an EX-413 handheld microphone for man-on-the-street interviews. Both mics plug into the bodypack transmitter and deliver a rich, present sound far superior to the audio you get from the phone's built-in mic when shooting video.

The system offers a range of 250' and two selectable VHF frequencies, which provides an option in case of signal interference. The receiver's output plugs right into the headphone jack on your phone or tablet using the supplied cable and adapter. The cable is also compatible with the audio input on DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

The transmitter and receiver each run on a single 9V battery for up to 8 hours. The receiver includes a shoemount along with hook-and-loop tape for mounting and fastening to your camera. It also comes with a headphone jack and earphone for real-time monitoring.

Features

  • Compatible with iOS and Android devices equipped with a headphone jack—iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, and more
  • Also compatible with DSLR/mirrorless cameras and recorders equipped with a 3.5mm audio input
  • Both mics feature an omnidirectional polar pattern ensuring that the sound remains consistent, even when the talent's head moves away from the mic
  • Up to two WMS-PRO+i wireless systems can be operated simultaneously in the same environment
  • The MVT-1 smartphone tripod (available separately) lets you mount the receiver to a smartphone to create a compact and portable rig, and can also be used as a tabletop stand or handheld video grip

Azden WMS-PRO + I Reviews

Needed a wireless mic for iPhone videos

I bought this wireless mic for my daughter, who enjoys making videos, plus to review it for a department in my company who makes videos and interviews people using their iPhones. Turns out I needed it for making a video using my Nikon D750. It works beautifully on all three systems, seamlessly. Couldn't ask for anything more.

question

I am looking for a wireless lavalier system for no more than $200 that offers decent audio quality. My usage will include standups and liveshots for news gathering and that's all, thus, why I don't want to spend too much money. It will only be used with my personal equipment not for my job. And I would be using it with my Sony HXRNX100 NX Cam? And I am confused about the frequencies?

Thanks for your interest in Azden. The WMS-PRO+i system would be very suitable for the uses you described. If you don't intend on using the wireless system with a mobile device, look into the regular WMS-PRO kit, which is the same as this product but without the TRRS adapter cable. Your Sony camera looks to have only XLR inputs for the audio. If that is the case you will need to order our MX-1 adapter cable to use this kit. The WMS-PRO+i kit has two selectable transmission frequencies. Set up is easy; simply set both the transmitter and receiver to either F1 or F2. Two frequencies are provided as an option in case interference exists on one frequency.

question

Do I need a speaker with this microphone system?
Asked by: Joyce B.
Hello Joyce. Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Azden WMS-PRO+i VHF Wireless Lavalier and Handheld Mic System. What is your intended use with this system? Typically, this system is used for camera/mobile device video recording. If you wish to use a wireless microphone system and need amplification to speak to a moderate to large-sized crowd, this may not be the best system for that particular use.
