Azden WLX-PRO + I Overview

The Azden WLX-PRO+i VHF Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System for Smartphones is a cost-effective audio solution designed to help vloggers and content creators improve the audio quality in smartphone- or tablet-based video productions.

The lightweight, portable WLX-PRO+i includes a bodypack transmitter and an EX-503 lavalier microphone that can be clipped to clothing, close to the speaker's mouth for a rich, present sound—far superior to the sound you get from the phone's built-in mic when shooting video.

The system offers a range of 250' and two selectable VHF frequencies, which provides an option in case of signal interference. The receiver's output plugs right into the headphone jack on your phone or tablet using the supplied cable and adapter. The cable is also compatible with the audio input on DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

The transmitter and receiver each run on a single 9V battery for up to 8 hours. The receiver includes a shoemount along with hook-and-loop tape to mount and fasten it to your camera. It also comes with a headphone jack and earphone for real-time monitoring.

Features
  • Compatible with iOS and Android devices equipped with a headphone jack—iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, and more
  • Also compatible with DSLR/mirrorless cameras and recorders equipped with a 3.5mm audio input
  • Lav mic features an omnidirectional polar pattern, ensuring that the sound remains consistent, even when the talent's head moves away from the mic
  • Up to two wireless mics can be operated simultaneously in the same environment
  • The MVT-1 smartphone tripod (available separately) lets you mount the receiver to a smartphone to create a compact and portable rig and can also be used as a tabletop stand or handheld video grip

My I use the Rode Procaster Broadcast Quality Dynamic Microphone with Azden WLX-PRO+i VHF Wireless Lavalier Microphone System for Cameras & Mobile Devices and the Azden MX-1 Mini Stereo to XLR-M Cable?
Asked by: Hamilton
If you are asking if you can use our MX-1 cable to adapt the Rode Procaster into the transmitter of the WLX-PRO+i wireless kit, the answer is no, that will not work. The MX-1 has a male XLR connector. You would need a cable with a female XLR connector for this application. However, even if you had the correct cable, I am not so sure this will sound very good. The input of the WM-PRO transmitter is designed for use with an electret-condenser microphone, not a dynamic microphone.

Can I send a line-in that's not a mic? I need to send a line in and not have it be boosted by pre-amps.
Asked by: Asher
The WLX-PRO+i has only a microphone level input. Sending line level through this input will likely create distortion, so it is not suitable for this application. You may want to look into our PRO-XD wireless mic, as the transmitter in that system has a dedicated line (AUX) input.

I want to make public pranking videos, will I be able to hide the mic in my shirt ?
Asked by: SAVVY
There's no reason the microphone can't be hidden under clothing, but the product does not come with any kind of tape which you'll probably need for this application. Other companies make special tape for hiding lavalier microphones, if you want to look into that.

question

Can you use this mic system on a regular laptop..Windows 10...and Skype?
Asked by: Anonymous
Provided your laptop has a microphone input, and you use the proper cables, the Azden WLX-PRO+i VHF Wireless Lavalier Microphone System will work into a Laptop with windows 10 for use with skype. With that said, should you lack a proper microphone input, Samson makes the Stage XPD1 Presentation USB Digital Wireless System; B&H# SASWXPD1BLM5.

question

Will the receiver take a signal from two transmitters at the same time?
Asked by: Ryan S.
No, if you turn on two transmitters within range and they are on the same frequency, they will interfere with one another and you'll get garbled sound. If they are on different frequencies, only one of them will get through to the receiver. The receiver only has one channel.

This is considered an entry-level, basic wireless microphone system, and should work fairly well depending upon the distance and operating environment. Depending upon your particular project or application you may very happy with its performance for the price/value paid.

Could I purchase a second WR-PRO receiver and transmit to 2 separate devices (iPad & laptop) at the same time with one transmitter?
Asked by: WAYNE
Hello. Yes, you can send signal from one transmitter to multiple receivers with the Azden PRO Series. But, if you are planning to transmit to both an iPad and a laptop, odds are you'll need a 2nd TRRS adapter cable from Azden, as well. That cable can be purchased separately and is the HX-Mi cable. Most laptops require this type of connection now
