    Metabones MB_FD-E-BM1 reviews

Canon FD Mount Lens to Sony NEX Camera Lens Mount Adapter (Black) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as expected The adapter mounted on the Sony A6000 without a hitch. But I was unable to mount a Canon FD mount lens to the other end of the adapter. I tried seven (7) different FD mount lenses to no avail. A comparison of the FD mount end of the adapter with the mount on a Canon F-1(N) and a T-90 showed that one of the slots on the adapter was more narrow than that of the cameras. A reviewer mentioned that he used a rasp to make the adapter work but I wasn't keen on doing that. So I returned the adapter to B&H with no hassles. I really wanted the adapter to work because I shelf full of Canon FD mount lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product but Expensive This Canon FD Lens to Sony NEX mount adapter connects a Canon FD mount to the Sony E mount found on Sony NEX and Alpha series cameras. I'm connecting a 400mm Sigma Prime Lens to a Sony a6000 camera for astrophotography. Of course, there are cheaper adapters on the market, but they won't have the high level of quality as this beautiful Metabones adapter. This adapter holds both sides very securely without any play. When the adapter snaps into position, you know that the camera and lens will not come apart. That assurance is worth a few extra dollars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Build - No Complaints I use this on my a7s with an FD mount Vivatar 90mm 2.8 macro and an FD 50mm 1.8. The lenses go on snuggly and smoothly and once on, there's no play or wiggle. With these 2 lenses and this adapter I get manual lens control over aperture with no hiccups. There are cheaper options available but I went with the Metabones option because it had the best reviews. I agree so far with all the positive things I read and have no regrets about my decision. Saving money by purchasing these older FD lenses helped me in deciding not to skimp on the adapter. As always, B&H shipped this adapter promptly and it arrived right when it was supposed to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Metabones adapter is a perfect fit. I recently purchased the Sony a7II, and want to experiment with different prime lenses. The first lens I got required a Canon FD adapter. I've looked over a lot of reviews and articles about various adapters, so I know what I want. The Metabones FD to Sony E adapter is my first acquisition, and I'm pleased to report that it was spot on, out of the box. The fit to both, the camera body, and to the lens, is at it should be-snug, light tight, and removable. No inner weirdness from flares and such. Metabones will be my continued choice for other adapters.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid build quality Solid build quality and does the job holding my vintage FD lenses to my NEX-5! Way better than cheaper *versions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Metabones adaptor does the jon Using the adaptor with the Sony ILCE - A7S full frame. The adaptor has nice finish and fit, and everything works properly. There is a ring on the adaptor to switch between f-stop preset and wide open for focusing. Of course, the adaptor is completely manual. The distance scale on the lens is only approximate, but this is true with all the old primes I'm fitting on the A7.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth every penny Bought this adapter to use canon fd lenses with my A7s. Works like a charm. I've bought some off brand adapters for other lenses and have had issues with the lens registering and other issues, but none such with the metabones. Great price too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does exactly what I need This adapter fit very tightly to my A7II but does the job. I shoot mainly macro and manually focus so the slow autofocus speed is not an issue. Autofocus does work but takes a solid 3 seconds to lock on with USM lenses - with older screw drive AF is futile. I do notice the camera/adapter seem to loose contact for a moment and then sync back up - not a huge issue but it does take the camera out of playback or menus
