question
Would it be possible to combine two or more of these tracks to make one long continuous track run?
In theory, sure. Out-of-the-box, these are designed to be used singly. But you could probably rig it up as a long length of multiple units. You would need to provide your own joinery. And stability of the rail itself would be an issue. The long rail is exceptionally sturdy and does not bend or bow. But adding a joint could create problems.

question
What type of supports are people using with this?
It is very versatile. I have used it on the floor, on uneven ground, propped up against walls, and on two tripods.
