UniFi AP-LR
Time Saving and Cost Effective
UniFi comes bundled with a non-dedicated software controller that can be deployed on an on-premise PC, Mac, or Linux machine, in a private cloud, or using a public cloud service.
Wi-Fi 802.11n MIMO Technology
The UniFi AP-LR features Wi-Fi 802.11n MIMO technology, capable of gigabit speeds and ranges up to 600'.
Expandable
Build wireless networks as big or small as needed. Start with one or more, or expand to thousands if necessary, while maintaining a single unified management system.
UniFi Controller
UniFi Controller Software
Install, configure, and manage UniFi AP with the intuitive and easy-to-learn UniFi Controller user interface. Use the UniFi Controller to provision thousands of UniFi APs, map out networks, quickly manage system traffic, and provision additional UniFi APs.
Detailed Analytics
Use the configurable reporting and analytics to manage large user populations and expedite troubleshooting.
Wireless Uplink
Wireless Uplink functionality enables wireless connectivity between APs for extended range. One wired UniFi AP uplink supports up to four wireless downlinks on a single operating band, allowing wireless adoption of devices in their default state and real-time changes to network topology.
Guest Portal/Hotspot Support
Easy customization and options for Guest Portals include authentication, Hotspot setup, and the ability to use your own external portal server. Use UniFi's rate limiting for Guest Portal/Hotspot package offerings. Apply different bandwidth rates (download/upload), limit total data usage, and limit duration of use. UniFi AP includes Hotspot functionality. It includes built-in support for billing integration using major credit cards and built-in support for voucher-based authentication. It also includes built-in Hotspot Manager for voucher creation, guest management, payment refund, full customization, and branding of Hotspot portal pages.
Multi-Site Management*
A single UniFi controller running in the cloud can manage multiple sites, multiple distributed deployments and multi-tenancy for managed service providers. Each site is logically separated and has its own configuration, maps, statistics, guest portal, and administrator read/write and read-only accounts.
WLAN Groups*
The UniFi controller can manage flexible configurations of large deployments. Create multiple WLAN groups and assign them to an AP's radio.
Zero Handoff Roaming*
With Zero Handoff Roaming, mobile users can roam anywhere and maintain their connections as they switch to the nearest AP. Zero Handoff Roaming makes multiple APs appear as a single AP, so it can work with any client and requires no interaction from the client device.
Maps
Upload map images of your location for a visual representation of each wireless network.
Statistics
UniFi organizes and visualizes network traffic in clear and easy-to-read graphs.
Access Points (AP)
Install, configure, and manage all APs from a single location.
Extend Your Coverage
With the UniFi Controller software running in a NOC or in the cloud, administrators can extend and centrally manage wide areas of indoor and outdoor coverage, using any combination of UniFi APs.
Easy Mounting
Sleek wall or ceiling mount design (all accessories included).
Design
It has an industrial design with an LED provisioning ring or square, which provides administrator location tracking and alerts for each device.
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
UniFi AP-LR includes Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality, which allows both power and data to be carried over a single Ethernet cable to the device.

question

If you just want to use this for Google Voice at home - will it need elaborate setup? I understand it will need a POE injector, but other than that, what complications will be expected just to link it to Google Voice for home use?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Enterprise Pro VoIP Phone with 5 Touchscreen is a SIP phone, and does not natively support Google voice. To use the phone as intended with Google voice, you would need to run a PBX with support for Google Voice, and provision the Enterprise Pro VoIP Phone to the PBX.

question

Is the headset loud enough? Some very negative reviews state that the headset is quite low even when set at maximum volume. My hearing is not great, how does the Ubiquiti compare to the Cisco 7960 ?
Asked by: Anonymous
we would not know which one will have higher volume with out testing them.

You can but this is more dependent on the VoIP service provider selected, and their transferring options.

question

Looking for wifi coverage for a large home with a yard. I would like to be able to use the same ssid and network information so that I can roam between access points or areas of the home and yard and still have uninterrupted coverage. Also, home will have several wifi thermostats and devices that need to be connected to each other on same network. I am wondering if this product might meet my needs. Also, is it too complex for someone who tinkers with computers but isn't a network engineer?
Asked by: david s.
I purchased three for very similar reasons. We have three of the access points distributed throughout the house. They are all wired to the basement where the (included) power over ethernet injectors provide power right through the networking cable. There, they all connect to a verizon fios router which has its wifi turned off. I am letting the Unifi equipment do it all. You may choose to do otherwise. We also have two wifi thermostats controlling two zones. All access points share the same SSID. (Unifi also has a zero hand off capability. Probably overkill for what you need and may not be supported by the firmware yet.)Configuring and running them is a bit different than you may be accustomed if you typically use a single wireless router. The configuration software (controller), while still accessible via a web browser, does not run on the networking hardware itself. You must run it on a computer somewhere on the network. This is not as complicated as it might sound. I run it on my MacBook when I need it, access it from the same MacBook, and shut it down when I am done. When you launch the controller, it provides a button to launch your browser. Once in the browser interface, setting things up is easy. It will even coordinate rolling updates to all the hardware for you.The controller software lets you inspect your network fairly completely. It allows you to see what devices are on the the network, which access point they are currently using, which devices are using the most bandwidth, etc. I was surprised to find just how many wifi devices are on our network. You can even set up a floor plan view with the coverage areas of each access point graphically approximated. In terms of reliability, things have been rock solid. I have not once rebooted any of them, outside of a firmware update, since I purchased them. This is something I did weekly with every wifi router I purchased previously. You should also consider EnGenius Technologies' products.
