    TC-Helicon FX150 reviews

Voicesolo FX150 Personal PA and Vocal Processor is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound This is a fantastic piece of gear. I bought it to practice vocals, and I could not be happier. The sound is not 'tinny', but really nice and full.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Company! Hey Gearheads, I would recommend you to steer clear from TC-Helicons products. I had a bad experience with their personal monitor products. I have two, the TC-Helicon VSM-300 & VSM 300XTs (the prior versions of there new FX150 series). The units listed for over $500.00 each. One failed on me after a year, it would go from very soft to extremely loud causing feedback just out of the blue. It was out of warranty, so they offered a $130.00 flat service fee to fix this unit. So I sent the unit out to their Southern California TC-Group service facility from South Florida paying the shipping fees to their center. After a month I got it back and it had the same problem as when I sent it, so I was out the $130.00 service fee and $60.00 in shipping the unit back and forth. I was so tired after months of wrangling with them and going without a monitor, I just gave up and bought another personal monitor (different brand) and put this one up on the shelf. Then later their other unit developed the exact same problem of going from very soft to extremely loud for no apparent reason. But before I just went out and purchased another personal monitor I thought I would give them the opportunity to try to give me a reason why I should buy their products. The response was unfortunate, I talked with a Customer Care Specialist. Nelson who promotes this weird idea that all equipment will fail after a period of time, and he would not take any responsibility for the fact that both units had failed in exactly the same way, and also their service facility had failed. So if a company that stands behind its products is important to you I suggest you steer clear of TH-Helicon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good, but there are a few things to know. In general, it sounds pretty good and it is loud. A few things to consider though: 1) Signal-to-Noise is not very good. There's a constant hiss when you turn up the unit volume and I found out that in a true concert you may need to turn up the volume up to 75% (When using the unit on the floor). 2) There's not enough Bass, but it is expected due to its size. 3) To compensate the lack of bass I tried to use the internal eq, but to my ears I couldn't achieve what I wanted, so I had to use an external EQ which did the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent personal monitor Comparing the Voicesolo FX150 to the Mackie personal monitor, what won me over were all the added feature. Having so many built in features including reverb makes it a winner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for what it is designed to do I use a pair of these for patio gigs -- up on mic stands as a mini FOH for talking heads -- works well at one place especially. The site is a large residence with a patio overlooking the Ohio River, so there is a fair amount of ambient sound. They set up tents and seating for 65 or so people, it is a dinner and bourbon tasting with a lecture (a local historical society). These are unobtrusive but have plenty of volume for the lecturer to be heard. Also have used them in similar settings for a monitor in coffee house/acoustic gigs. I can carry 2 FX150s, a 5 channel mixer, cables, a couple of mics and a DI or two all in one roughneck tub. 3 or 4 mic stands and it is one load. I deducted one star because I cannot seem to get enough gain from the built in mic preamp on a EV PL-84 condenser mic. The noise floor seems to be fairly high on the built-in, hence the need for an actual mixer.
