MHG-XT Base Plate for X-T1 is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bummer I wanted something to add a bit of thickness to the bottom of the X-T1. This does that, and has the added unexpected benefit of lowering the center of gravity noticeably. It's also well-made and well finished. It does however hamper the tilting of the LCD screen. You can no longer tilt the screen out from the top first, then the bottom. And when you do tilt it out from the top the screen touches along the bottom edge. I had to add thick paper shims to stop that from happening. Getting the screen back to flat is now a fiddly nervous affair. I'm left curious if this is the same for the other two MHG-XT grips. Three stars off for being an expensive frustration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adds just enough extra grip for me I bought the base plate to give a bit more clearance between the lens barrel of the 23/1.4 and 56/1.2 which it does perfectly. What I didn't expect was that it adds a nice amount of additional weight to the camera, due to its metal construction, making it a bit more steady in the hand. You can also get a finger into the knock out for the battery to really steady the camera further. A comment on the review stating you can't pull on the rear screen as you can without the base: I haven't found this to be the case at all. The screen tilt works exactly as it does without the base plate in my experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice finishing touch to Fuji system I was looking for something that would keep the XT1 small but still provide great utility: Love the extra 1/4 in height it provides to the camera for me to grip and to ensure a little more clearance for my RRS lever lock when using thicker lenses. And it doubles as an Arca-Swiss plate that DOES NOT cover that battery door. An L bracket was too big for my needs, and since this is built specifically for the XT1, the fit and finish is perfect. A bit pricey for what it is but long-term I think it's the way to go if you want to keep your mirrorless system on the small side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatif it fits your needs I bought this base plate together with the version that has the large integrated grip. This plate added extra height which made the camera easier to hold. It also eliminated the need to buy an extra arca-swiss platea big plus. Finally, it centered the tripod socket on the camera body. The base plate did not affect the ability to use the tilt-out screen and while it did add weight I thought it was minimal. Its design complements the X-T1 nicely. I ended up returning this product to B&H because the version with the large integrated grip offered significant additional control, especially when using larger lenses. Coming from a 5D MkIII, even with the large grip the whole thing felt very small in my size medium hands at first. Now everything feels very natural. If you don't want the integrated grip this base plate is a great choice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Accessory Nice addition to the camera, obviously for tripod use but the added benefit us that it extends the camera body slightly and gives a place to hook your pinky finger for nice hand holding. Well made, fits great, doesn't interfere with the tilt screen. Get it while it's on sale, otherwise it is pricey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right for camera plates Offset tripod mount and solid bottom (instead of hollowed out 3rd party bottoms) now allows my Peak Design plates to stay mounted while changing batteries. YEAH! As an added bonus my pinky now has a home so the camera feels more secure, too. Also, works fine on my Arca quick releases.
