The U.are.U 5160 USB Fingerprint Reader from digitalPersona is a FIPS 201/PIV-certified, touch-style optical fingerprint reader. Rated at IP64, the reader is sealed against dust and liquids and its hard glass imaging window is highly resistant to chemical and physical damage. Ergonomic blue "landing lights" help guide the user for simple, accurate fingerprint scans. Applications can also use red and green status lights built into the reader to provide immediate feedback without the need for a separate display screen. The U.are.U 5160 Reader can be used with any standards-compatible fingerprint templates extractor or matcher, including the digitalPersona FingerJet Biometric Engine.

This compact sized Fingerprint Reader is designed for use with digitalPersona's full range of software including authentication solutions, digitalPersona Pro Enterprise and digitalPersona Online, as well as U.are.U Software Development kits. Whether you are an enterprise customer or a system integrator, digitalPersona's biometric identity verification solutions provide a natural extension to your security system and applications.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great device. Requires additional software. My reasons to buy Digital Persona is for their name and durability. This is a really good device - compact and beautiful. However it does not come with driver or software. I had to spend almost a day to find compatible software. It was hard but I found Identamaster. So, prior buying such exotic security device, make sure you know where to find the software.
