Featuring a V-mount battery plate, the Pro Series LED500 Bi-Color LED Light Panel from Dracast is an ideal choice for location work, interviews, and small sets where color accuracy, control, and flicker-free output are of major importance. Variable color temperature from 3200 to 5600K means you can quickly match the prevailing ambient or artificial light balance with a simple twist of a knob while others are still applying filters. Dimming is equally convenient via another knob that adjusts the light intensity from 0 to 100% with negligible color shift. Additionally, its high CRI of 96 renders colors with precision and fidelity. The low electrical draw of just 30W means a timely return on your investment.

Dracast LED500 Pro Bi-Color Overview

By B&H Photo's

Variable color temperature from 3200 to 5600K means you can quickly match the prevailing ambient or artificial light balance with a simple twist of a knob while others are still applying filters. The durable anodized aluminum frame is supported by an oversized, U-shaped yoke with locking knobs on each side and a standard 5/8" receiver. This compact 12 x 6" panel can be used worldwide, powered by the included 100 to 240 VAC adapter in the studio, or by V-mount batteries in the field. Four-way barndoors for contouring and control of the LED500's 45° beam angle are available separately. For protection during transport and storage, a carry case is included.

How many of these lights would I need for a 2 person shoot?
Asked by: Walter
This will largely depend on the look you are trying to create as well as how you shoot. If you are lighting two subjects simultaneously, you will need to take that into consideration as opposed to lighting single subjects individually. Multiple light sources will allow you to fill shadows, but so will bounce cards or reflectors. Also, additional lights will allow for additional angles (e.g. back lighting) that will give more contour to your subjects. Lastly, you will need to consider if you are only lighting subjects or are you lighting set pieces as well. So, to answer your question: You could use a single light. You could also use three. If you're just lighting subjects, I would recommend between two and six of these fixtures. If you are lighting set pieces, add lighting accordingly.

I ordered two of these in the US and received them with EU-standard plugs. Is that common?
Asked by: Alexandr
Nope. Someone mixed them up somewhere along the line. they should come with standard American plugs. Good luck! They are great lights.

question

How many lights can I put on a 15 amp circuit? How many Amps per light?
Asked by: Mark
Mark,For a 15 Amp circuit, you first need to multiply by the Volts. If we use 110, that gives us 1650 Watts for that circuit. However, most electricians recommend no more than 80% of capacity, so that leaves us with 1320 Watts. The LED500 runs on 30 Watts, so if we divide that into 1320 it tells us that you can run 44 of these lights on a typical 15 Amp circuit. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at [email protected].
