Dracast Pro Series LED1000 Bi-Color LED Light Panel (V-Mount)
Key Features
  • For Live Events, Broadcast & Video
  • Output: 3402 Lux at 3.3' (5600K)
  • 3200-5600K CCT
  • 12 x 12" Panel; AC/DC Operation
At 5.4 lb, the Pro Series LED1000 Bi-Color LED Light Panel from Dracast is an ideal choice for location work, interviews, and small sets where color accuracy, control, and flicker-free output are of major importance. This 12 x 12" panel is significantly larger than the Pro Series LED500 unit. Variable color temperature from 3200 to 5600K means you can quickly match the prevailing ambient or artificial light balance with a simple twist of a knob while others are still applying filters. Dimming is equally convenient via another knob that adjusts the light intensity from 0 to 100% with negligible color shift. Additionally, its high CRI of 96 renders colors with precision and fidelity. The low electrical draw of 60W means a timely return on your investment.

The durable aluminum frame is supported by a sturdy, U-shaped yoke with locking knobs on each side and a standard 5/8" receiver. The LED1000 can be used worldwide, powered by the included 100 to 240 VAC adapter or optional V-mount 14.8 VDC batteries. Accessories include optional 4-way barndoors for contouring and control of the LED1000's 45° beam angle. A carry case is included for convenient storage and portability.

Does anyone know how bright these are? Lumens? How do they compare to a 1K?
Asked by: Jeff
1 Foot candle = 1 Lumen per square foot 1 Foot Candle = 10.57 lux The photometrics tables can be converted 3800 lux/353 fc at 3.0' / 0.9 m = 3800 lux/353 lumens at 3' Using these formulas you can compare, but the results will not accurate as every lighting company uses different measuring equipment and different environents for testing.

I have a couple of these and I'm wondering what people are using for travel cases. Thoughts?
Asked by: Basil
Basil, we had custom flight-travel cases made for when the kit is flying. For local travel we use the bags that came with the lights. The stands go in a polyetheylene tube, also custom made. I am not sure where you are based, but we have several custom travel case manufactureres in Johannesburg, so you should too where you are based.Hope this helps. HenkPuma Video

If needed, is U.S. repair available for these lights? I have two lights from another manufacturer that I have to throw out because they do not have repair services. Not going to buy from a company like that again.

What softboxes are people using with this? Good and bad experiences? Want something to broaden and soften these.
Asked by: Basil
I used the Chimera, which is available at B&H under Accessories. Pricy, and relatively small, but it's durable, sets up easily and works well. I'd buy it again--in fact, I have.

Can a 2 light set up with this light provide enough light for a 144 sq ft studio for still photography?
Asked by: Joshua
Agree... depending of course on the ISO and depth of field you want to work with. Though as you soften the light, your ISO will need to rise. Should work though! Love the light...
