ASUS AC1300 overview

  • 1Description

The PCE-AC56 AC1300 Dual-Band Wireless PCI-E Adapter from ASUS features a PCE Express interface allowing the adapter to be connected directly to the motherboard. This wireless adapter offers 802.11ac wireless connectivity with support for maximum data transfer rates of up to 1300 Mb/s and can operate on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies. You can also keep the network connection secure with 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, and WPS support.

Upgrade to 802.11ac Wi-Fi
The ASUS PCE-AC56 is an 802.11ac Wi-Fi PCI Express adapter that upgrades your desktop from Ethernet cables to 802.11ac wireless connectivity with data speeds up to 867 Mb/s. Broadcom TurboQAM technology boosts 2.4 GHz 802.11n performance from 300 Mb/s to 400 Mb/s with compatible devices. Plus, the external magnetized antenna base gives you more flexibility in adjusting antenna placement to get the best signal reception quality possible.
The 802.11ac Wi-Fi Standard
The PCE-AC56 uses Broadcom's 5th generation Wi-Fi 802.11ac chipset to reach speeds of up to 867 Mb/s through the 5 GHz band, which is three times faster than 802.11n Wi-Fi. At the same time, it maintains full backward compatibility with all previous Wi-Fi protocols, providing high performance two-way transmission while ensuring a smooth transition to 802.11ac and seamless interconnection with existing devices.
Extend and Strengthen Your Wireless Connection
ASUS AiRadar intelligently strengthens wireless connectivity using 802.11ac beamforming technology, high power amplification, and ASUS RF fine-tuning. This ensures extended coverage, dynamic data speed increases, and enhanced stability.
Virtually Eliminate Dead Zones
A powerful signal-boosting high-gain design gives the PCE-AC56 improved signal transmission that extends Wi-Fi range and coverage by up to 150% compared to generic client devices. This extended coverage minimizes the possibility of dead spots at any location, offering fast and uninterrupted HD streaming and smooth multiplayer gaming throughout the home or office.

Verified by ASUS internal test. Actual performance may vary as a result of network conditions and environmental factors
Instant Wi-Fi Upgrade
With its PCI Express interface, the PCE-AC56 plugs into any motherboard to give your desktop an instant 802.11ac Wi-Fi upgrade, with access to speeds of up to 1.3 Gb/s. As it connects directly to the motherboard, there are no messy cables to clutter your computing environment, and no dedicated power supply is required.
Improved Stability
The added heatsink uses highly-conductive aluminum to remove heat from the chipset, ensuring greater reliability for non-stop operation. Lower temperatures translate into a more stable device in all climate conditions, even during hot summers, and greater stability means more consistent connectivity and longer product lifespan.

    ASUS AC1300 reviews

    PCE-AC56 AC1300 Dual-Band Wireless PCI-E Adapter is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant solution My Dell mini-tower was spot and miss in connecting with the house wifi. I installed this wireless board and software (the CD is included) and the problem has been solved for two weeks with not problems at all. Easy installation, software that allows me to monitor my router and provider's connection speed and an antenna I can point to maximize effectivenesswhat's not to like? The only complaint, which I worked out, would be the coax to the antennas is a little too short. I pushed the tower a little further under the desk, but if that antenna cable had 12 more inches, I'd have those rabbit ears on top of my monitor....because this thing works well enough to brag about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installs easily and great signal. I bought this to replace a cheap USB Wi-Fi adaptor. The Asus PCE-AC56 installed very easily both on the hardware side and software side. The magnetic base is very strong for remotely locating the antennas. I use this in a concrete floor/wall/ceiling building and I have good signal strength despite my wireless router being located in a different room. No issues thus far. I connect best using the included software and not the windows task bar in the bottom right corner of your screen. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, FYI.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch quality! Just installed it today, I am using Windows 7 64-bit. Installed very easily and has an attractive dragon red color. My existing Unifying receiver worked immediately with it. Feels super smooth on my MSI Sistorm gaming mousepad. Software installed very quickly and easily, everything works seamlessly for me! I am just having to get used to the shape, as I am use to a mouse with a flat claw profile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works better than you think This works so much better than a laptop wireless or any I have used before. If you are having some wifi issues this should take care most of it. Love how it offers the stand which is magnetic or be attached to the back. Get this one dont waste money on the three prong one, its just as good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Position for Best Signal The 40 inch cord lets you position the antenna to get the best signal from your wireless router. The software utility shows your connection signal, speed, and other information you'd want to know. Easy to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved My Range/Drop-out Issues This device installed on a Win 7 machine with no problems and provides far superior performance than my previous USB Wi-Fi adapter. The PC I installed it in is located pretty far (and multiple walls including a brick one) from our router... most computers, phones and tablets can't communicate reliably (or at all) with our router from this location. Although at a much lower bit rate than the devices stated maximum, The ASUS PCE-AC56 AC1300 never drops out and maintains good speed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works very well, and easy to set-up. The adapter worked immediately once I set it up and got it properly connected to my computer. The antenna base is also quite sturdy. I haven't dropped the thing, but if it did fall, I wouldn't be overly concerned. Only complaint is the cable between the antenna base and adapter isn't very long, but if you plan on mounting it magnetically to the side of your PC as recommended, that shouldn't be a problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wifi Card This Asus card is top notch. I'm using it under Win10 in a Home Theater / Media PC and I've never experienced any connectivity issues or drops. Asus makes good products and this is a fine example of their well designed and engineered technology. Excellent throughput and signal strength. You can't go wrong here.
