What is the correct cable for Sony RX 10iv - the 3.5 mm or the 2.5 mm? Both are listed by B&Has appropriate.
Asked by: John
The 2.5mm or 3.5mm ends go into the remote, it depends on which remote you have or plan on getting. Some remotes take 2.5mm and some take 3.5mm.

question

can it be used to start and stop video with a sony a7riii ?
Asked by: branden a.
I am seeking to purchase this cable for the same reason you ask your question about. My theory is that it WOULD work for starting and stopping video recording purposes. I have been using Cactus remote triggers to do this very thing in a multi camera setup with 3 Pentax K3 cameras, and it allowed me to to do this in sync on all 3 cameras using the cactus triggers. I wanted to add a 4K camera to my kit, so I bought a used RX10iv, only to discover it doesn't have a 2.5mm port to input the cables I use with the K3's. So, in my research, I've determined that I need a cable with a 5 pin micro USB to 3.5mm stereo plug to connect the RX10iv to my cactus triggers. Whether this will actually work in tandem with my K3's remains to be seen, but I'm going to buy the cable and I'll make a follow up post once I've tested my theory.

question

I bought this so I could attach my PocketWizard MultiMax to my A7RIII and used the intervalometer function and or trigger the camera to fire with another PocketWizard. It doesn't seem to work unless I have the camera's shutter button halfway pressed. Any ideas on how to get this to work without having to touch the camera?

I have the Vello Wireless Shutterboss for Canon. Will this cord work with a Sony A9? The 3.5mm or the 2.5mm?
Asked by: Irene
You will need the 2.5mm shutter release cable (MFR # RCC-S2-2.5) to connect your Sony a9 with your Wireless ShutterBoss, since the port in the ShutterBoss only accepts a 2.5mm connector.

It is just a spring cord with the 2 ends. The entire thing is flexible. There is not a hard angle to anything.
