Vello BG-N14 Overview

The BG-N14 Battery Grip from Vello is designed specifically for the Nikon Df DSLR camera and accepts one or two Nikon EN-EL14 or EN-EL14a batteries. With the grip and two batteries your shooting time is effectively doubled.

The design of the grip offers a comfortable and secure way in which to hold your camera when shooting in portrait orientation. An alternate shutter release button facilitates shooting when held vertically, and triggers the camera via the included shutter release cable. It is designed with an anti-slip rubber grip and firm curvature to further improve handling. A tripod socket is located on the underside of the grip, and a holder for the camera's battery door prevents its loss when the grip is on the camera. The BG-N14 is also compatible with the Nikon EP-5A AC power supply, for extended in-studio use.

I like the ability to have 2 batteries for when I am out on a shoot. I wish it held 2 memory cards! One issue is that the aux. release is not dependable.

Can this fit a nikon D5600? And how would mount to it?

It mounts and works well on my Df. I can't comment on the D5600 as I do not own one.

question

What is the purpose of the cable connecting the battery pack to the camera body on the left side?
Asked by: Anonymous
It is for the shutter release button on the opposite side of the battery pack. I rarely use it though as I bought the battery pack for astrophotography and use the cable release to help reduce camera shake.
