Impact Pro Light Stand Reviews

Cheap gear that works

I have 5 of these that travel in a soft case. Basic kit stand. Cheaper than similar Manfrotto. I prefer the HD, square leg tubed Avenger stands, but they cost many times more.

4.5 stars, close to perfect

I love these stands. They're a great compromise between a c-stand and a regular light stand. Only things I wish were different would be to have air-cushioning and that the knobs would be smaller. I like the grip on the knobs, but they are so big that they limit how many you can carry in a transportation bag because of how they stack. Great product with two minor inconveniences in my opinion.

One of the solid light stands!

The lightstand is very solid built. I used it to hold my portable video light. I have no issue to extend it to the max height. I will recommend to get this instead of some other cheap light stands. It is an investment

I wanted to love it

This is a great, and sturdy stand, but after only using it about 20 times the spacers on the claps fell out. I can push them back up in there but they keep falling out and it will probably take some trouble shooting to figure out what is happening. Not what you'd hope for a new product.

Great stand!

So far so good! The tubing doesn't feel quite as thick as other heavy duty light stands, but the hardware is good, and it feels sturdy with a boom arm on it, and a bag of sand holding it down. I purchased it on-sale for about $80, and so far it feels like a good deal!

Pretty solid light stand for price

I bought these stands because I got tired of packing a couple full C stands with me on small interview setups. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that they are a little heavier then I thought they would be but that may make them a little more solid for heavier lights and use. I now have 4 in the kit where only 2 C stands would go and Im saving about 10 to 15 lbs of weight out of the case. Plus I now have 2 more stands for lamps or reflectors or negative fill. I know not as solid as a C stand but they work for small setups. They are solid and all the knobs seem robust. I did remove the rubber covers on the clamping knobs. Didn't seem to gain much but lost about a .5 lb from each stand with the rubber part. Ill know more when I have used them for a long job or have had them travel the world for a year or so,,, then I might be able to give a better review but for now they seem to work for most simple setups. I save weight and get 2 extra stands in the same shipping case.

Best bang for buck light stand without compromising on sturdiness and quality. This is totally a top-tier light stand at a superb price point.

Can someone take a ruler and measure how tall the top stud is from its top down to the shoulder where an umbrella bracket would rest? I'm not sure if the hole in the bottom of my umbrella bracket is deep enough.
Asked by: Anonymous
The measurement of the top stud is 1 1/8 long.

The Impact Pro Light Stand (10.8 ', Black) Holds a 300d aputure with the softbox?
Asked by: owen
Yes, the Impact Pro Light Stand will support the Aputure 300D with a softbox. With larger modifiers, consider weighing down the light stand with a sandbag or counterweight in order to keep it more grounded.

Is this sturdy enough for an Arri tungsten fresnel?
Asked by: James A.
I don't own a tungsten frensel but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't.I own 5 or 6 stands and this one is the strongestI don't own any lights that I would hesitate to put on this standI don't always use it because I almost consider it overkill for my quantum's sometimes.
