Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding I received this product as a gift for my birthday from my best friend. She has had one for about 3 months now and she loves it. I'm really glad that this device provides constant light and is very bright throughout the night. I have used this light on cloudy days because this model creates real natural looking light for photos that were be taken at for a photoshoot. I've only had this device for a few weeks but the Dracast LED is a very strong light that does not fade throughout time. This is a very good quality product that I would definitely recommend to others. Seen how it has performed in some professional photos, I would imagine even video use would be wonderful with this light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best LED panels I have found I specialize in macro photography, and needed a set of LED panels to use as a continuous light source. After a lot of research, I called B&H and they suggested I look at the Dracast LED line. I was blown away. I found that this light met every requirement I had: (1) It is bright light with a very high CFI, a beautiful neutral white light. I shot a neutral grey card and sampled it in Lightroom, and the RGB values of the grey came out nearly perfect (R=56, G=55, B=56) -- better than any other LED light I tested. (2) This is a compact yet very well built light. That's an understatement -- it's a little tank. Solid, strong metal body (not plastic), with high-quality switches and connectors. (3) I needed a small light that could be powered by AC. (4) I wanted a family of lights with a variety of sizes, to handle all my needs. This light, combined with the LED200 or the LED500 with handle every lighting situation I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Daylight Camera! After looking around online for days, I decided to try out this for an upcoming photoshoot we were doing. I needed something that would provide consistent light when natural light and electricity wasn't available and this proved to be a handy tool! It's adjustable, light-weight (compared to others) and lasted for our shoot. We didn't have any streaking or glares and were very happy with the coloring it produced. We tried it on a little film too and after some adjustments worked great as well. I'd recommend trying it out. For the price and value, you have nothing to lose!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This light is brilliant! As someone passionate about photography and videography, I find this device to be perfect! It fits perfectly on my computer and helps provide the perfect light during the day time, even during fickle days. I cannot express how much time and energy this has saved me! It is also light, consistent, and provides brilliant effects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and Bright I bought this light for taking photos and capturing video. This is a compact, steady continuous light source that is easy to dim with no color shift and is exceptionally bright. You can probably get around 15 feet of coverage with just this light depending on your other gear, which is a nice deal of punch. Even for night time shooting, this little wonder takes great pictures. It's also great that no proprietary batteries are necessary to use this light. Just as important, the light fits securely on the camera hot shoe mount as well as on a light stand. In the past, I've had on-camera lights that would wiggle off the mount or mounts that could break if bumped. The mount is secure, with just the right amount of tightness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and Portable I searched everywhere for about a week for different LED camera lights that would mount on my camera and I came across this Dracast model. I must say that I love it! Some of the key factors that I wanted in a light were for it to be lightweight and very portable, as I am on the road all the time whether it is for pre-planned or freestyle shots. The light itself is easy to mount on and very adjustable. The overall quality is very good as well. Although I haven?t used it for video use at this point, it has helped produce super high-quality photos and I couldn?t be happier with my purchase. If you are in the market for a LED on-camera light, then I highly suggest you pick this one up! It does everything you need and you really can?t beat the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from INADEQUATE LIGHT OUTPUT ON BATTERY POWER! We returned this LED. The metal construction is impressive indeed. Color temperature is correct and the light is cast very evenly. However, the thrill ends here. The power-on knob is odd, and once turned on, can continue to be rotated as though it were a rheostat, except that it's not a rheostat! In use, this is somewhat awkward and disconcerting. An actual on/off rocker switch would be much better. The BIG PROBLEM is that the light output is grossly inadequate: Dracast Advertised Output: 1550 Lux @ 3 ft Actual Output (battery): 270 Lux @ 3 ft Actual Output (a/c adapter): 960 Lux @ 3ft This problem seems to be an engineering or design flaw, but it's possible that our unit was merely defective? It was tested using fully charged 7.2v Sony and 7.2v Panasonic batteries. Even when using the supplied 12v a/c adapter, the light output was only 62% of the advertised value. Our test meter is accurate to 2%. Dracast support staff suggested trying the 110v adapter. This 12v source increased the output to about 2/3 of that advertised by Dracast. However, this is an on-camera model, and a very expensive one at that, and should therefore perform to the manufacture's specification of 1550 Lux using on-board battery with a Power Input of 7.2-8.4v. It is noteworthy that the previous, discontinued, $99 plastic version of this light (DR-LED160-DS) tested acceptably! We have observed that the advertised specifications for the Dracast on-camera lights are inaccurate in general, even the physical dimensions of these lights are incorrectly reported ... not even close. We hope that B&H will investigate this problem because the Dracast product is absolutely beautiful, and it grieves us no end that it did not work for us.
