This L-Bracket is designed as two separate pieces which enables the base plate to be used separately. The vertical bracket can be extended outward 1.5" from the camera body for better cable port and battery chamber access and simplified centering of your image. This bracket will also fit professional DSLR cameras and those with a battery grip attached. A removable strap loop and built-in, magnetic Allen wrench storage are featured.

Two-piece design enables versatility when mounting the bracket. The vertical bracket can be removed when only the base piece is needed. Also, the vertical plate can be extended outward on two hardened steel rods to allow easier access for cables and also to better position the image center.
Arca-Swiss type compatibility fits heads by Arca-Swiss, Kirk, Markins, Really Right Stuff, Wimberley and others.
Two safety stops are incorporated into both the vertical and base pieces.
Built from anodized aluminum alloy.
Rubber cords in the base plate provide a snug fit for varying camera body sizes and prevent slipping and twisting.

How far away from the body can it be extended?
Asked by: Aleksandar
The ProMediaGear L-Brackets features rails that are approximately 2 inches in total length extending out from the L-bracket portion. The bracket may be attached and extended so that the rail is still being captured by the screws on the bracket plate. The L-bracket may extend approximately 1 inch away from the camera bracket plate in a fully extended state.

Has anyone fit this on a Contax 645 or other medium format film camera?
Asked by: Evangeline
My use for this ProMediaGear universal 4" L Bracket was for a Canon 80D and a Canon T6S, both with battery grips. I don't have a medium format camera, so I don't know if it is large enough to fit. The best source for answering your question would be ProMediaGear. I have contacted them in the past on other questions and they are very responsive. You can go to their website and get very good answers.

Can the vertical bracket be moved forward to ...

Can the vertical bracket be moved forward to allow the LCD screen on a Canon 80D to be opened out fully? Or do you have to keep the LCD on the back of the camera? Looking at the PMG website there is a model which does have that adjustibility.
Asked by: David
The bracket is a fixed machined aluminum piece and can not be adjusted forward / backwards. However, PMG is releasing a NEW L-bracket that will be available 1/25/19 called the PLX3T which features the Universal PBX3 Arca Compatible Bracket Plate and a Universal OFFSET L-Bracket section designed forward of the side ports and will allow articulation of the fold out screens. The bracket also features a built in cold shoe on the top of the L-bracket.

Will this work with an Olympus E-M1X?
Asked by: Reed
While the L-bracket will have no problems mounting to the camera, due to it being a "one-size-fits-all" universal bracket, it might obstruct several cable doors or battery access on your camera.
