Gigabyte U35F Overview

The U35F-CF3 15.6" Laptop Computer from Gigabyte features an ultra-thin 21 mm chassis for lightweight portability. It also has a 15.6" LCD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution. The resolution allows the U35F to play Full HD 1080p content natively without upscaling or letterboxing. The screen also features an antiglare finish, which reduces glare in brightly lit environments. You can also output video to an external display, such as a HDTV, via the HDMI port.

The system is powered by a dual-core 4th generation Haswell 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-4500U processor. It also has 8GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM, a 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive, a SuperMulti DVD burner, a Secure Digital (SD) media card reader, 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, an integrated webcam, and microphone. There are also built-in stereo speakers with a subwoofer.

Windows 8.1 is the installed operating system. Windows 8.1 improves the user experience of Windows 8 with several additions and changes. The Start button returns, but has two limited core functions. A left click takes you to the redesigned Start screen featuring tiles that update in real-time. A right click brings up an advanced menu where you can access the Device Manager, Control Panel and more. You will also be able to boot directly to the traditional desktop screen instead of the Windows 8.1 Start screen. Windows 8.1 provides a unique user experience that differs from previous versions of Windows.

The U35F houses a 4th-gen Haswell Intel Core i7-4500U processor. Its dual cores can reach a stock speed of 1.8 GHz. The processor can also be overclocked up to 3.0 GHz, thanks to Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. The Haswell processor uses low voltage, which provides improved battery life without sacrificing performance. With a dedicated 4MB L3 cache, 8GB of 1600 MHz DDR3L RAM, and Intel Hyper-Threading technology, you'll be able to push the dual cores into 4 virtual cores for quick and efficient multitasking

For a fast wired Internet connection, you can use the 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 LAN jack. You can also use 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet wirelessly and stay mobile. Bluetooth 4.0 technology is also supported so you can connect to all your favorite peripherals, such as a wireless keyboard or mouse.
Swap & Remove DVD Slot Design
The design of the simple-swap, removable optical drive gives you the option of slotting a DVD burner or a hard drive. Likewise, you may also swap for an empty slot to travel light and maximize mobility.
Backlit Keyboard with Auto Adjustment
The U35F has an automatic light sensing backlit keyboard. This significant feature adjusts the light to external conditions and makes typing and gaming in dimly lit rooms and dark conditions convenient.
