This Underwater Housing from Ikelite is a waterproof enclosure enabling you to shoot beneath the surface with the Canon PowerShot ELPH 150 IS Digital Camera, a.k.a. the IXUS 155. It has a depth rating of 200'. Mechanical controls, including push-buttons and a knurled knob, enable access to all important camera functions. The housing also allows for the use of the camera's built-in flash.
Built for durability, the enclosure is designed, constructed, and tested in the USA. It's manufactured from corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow you to monitor the o-ring seal and maintain a full view of the camera. The housing's 3.9" diameter flat glass lens port accommodates the camera's lens and also accepts external wide-angle and macro add-on lenses for an increased field of view or extreme close-up shots with better clarity and detail, respectively. You can also add optional color-correction filters to restore colors that get absorbed by the water.
Expand your system by adding an optional AF35 AutoFlash strobe, which features a flex arm and mounts onto the grip handle of an optional tray. This external strobe is triggered as a slave by the firing of the camera's built-in flash and replicates TTL exposure. The housing is also equipped with dual ports for Ikelite, Sea & Sea, or Olympus-type fiber-optic cables. It comes bundled with a diffuser to soften the light of the camera's built-in flash and a deflector to redirect it towards an external strobe.
Can be safely used at a maximum depth of 200'. Simply close the side latch and see the o-ring form a solid black watertight seal.
Large, ergonomic mechanical controls, including push-buttons and a knurled knob, enable access to all important camera functions.
Built for durability, the enclosure is designed, constructed, and tested in the USA. It's manufactured from corrosion-resistant polycarbonate, which is clear to allow you to monitor the o-ring seal and maintain a full view of the camera. The camera is quickly and easily installed via drop-in loading.
The housing's 3.9" diameter flat glass lens port accommodates the camera's lens and also accepts external wide-angle and macro add-on lenses for an increased field of view or extreme close-up shots with better clarity and detail, respectively. Both types of lenses will get you close to your subject to help cut down on distortion caused by the water. The recommended WD-4 Wide Angle Dome provides 0.75x magnification and corrects for the refractive magnification of the housing's standard flat port to restore the camera's original angle of coverage. It can be removed and replaced underwater. Additionally, the optional Macro Port Adapter allows for the attachment of 67mm threaded macro lenses from Inon and Epoque and can also be removed and replaced while underwater. You can also add optional color-correction filters to the lens port to restore colors that get absorbed by the water.
Nearly neutral in fresh water.
The housing allows for the use of the camera's built-in flash. Since built-in flashes have a limited range, the use of a more powerful external strobe is highly recommended for proper illumination, accurate color, and the elimination of glare, backscatter, and hard shadows. The optional AF35 strobe is triggered wirelessly as a slave by the camera's flash and provides automatic TTL exposure replication. There's no need for fiber-optic cables or sync cords. If you prefer to use a wired connection, though, the housing has dual ports for Ikelite, Sea & Sea, or Olympus-type fiber-optic cables.
Configured with a 12-24 thread with 3.0" spacing for mounting an optional tray and handle(s), which will provide improved buoyancy and handling and attachment points for lighting.
Additional Recommended Optional Accessories
The Vega Video + Photo Light provides a maximum output of up to 2200 lumens at a 65° beam angle and a daylight-balanced color temperature of 5700K. It offers a run time of 45-180 min. The Gamma Waterproof Flashlight outputs 220 lumens in a concentrated 10° beam with a daylight-balanced 6500K color temperature. It can run for over 10 hr. The Quick Release Kit for GoPro includes everything you need--minus the camera itself--to attach your GoPro to an Ikelite Quick Release Handle.
