Vanguard ENDEAVOR ED II 8320 overview

  • 1Description

The 8x32 Endeavor ED II Binocular from Vanguard Optics features extra-low dispersion (ED) glass and phase-corrected BAK4 roof prisms that work together to virtually eliminate chromatic aberration, which produces images with true color fidelity across the entire field of view and enhanced contrast. Complementing the glass and prisms are anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics that improve light transmission for bright and clear images.

An open-bridge design helps to reduce weight without sacrificing strength and provides a large surface area to hold, even with the compact body. Pebbled rubber armoring helps to give protection from drops and impacts while helping to provide a non-slip grip. Designed for durability, the lightweight magnesium-alloy housing is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed for fog and waterproof performance, and the three-stage click-stop twist-up eyecups provide a custom-fit eye relief for use with or without eyewear.

Vanguard ENDEAVOR ED II 8320 reviews

8x32 Endeavor ED II Binocular is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality binoculars I needed affordable 8x32 binoculars that were lightweight, with bright optics and good eye relief, and which also came with lens caps and a quality case. Almost went with Carson 3D ED (have two full sized Carsons in my collection already, both with excellent optics), but Carson did not include lens caps, and Vanguard was running a promotion, so I settled on Vanguards in the end. So far, they've been solid performers. 1) Optics: daytime 5/5, nighttime 4/5. These binos are bright and sharp with good contrast and accurate color rendition. No chromatic aberration to speak of. The Japanese ED glass certainly shows its prowess. At night, the small exit pupil causes annoying vignetting, but the good news is that there is no image ghosting around bright lights or the Moon. Anyway, I did not buy these for star gazing. If you are thinking astronomy, I would strongly recommend Nikon Action Extreme ATB 10x50. You will be impressed with their night sky rendition. 2) Ergonomics and build quality 4/5. I remain ambivalent about their open bridge design. Maybe on a larger pair of binoculars you can get a better grip with an open bridge, but these are small binos, and you can only stick a couple of fingers into that open slot. I feel that the closed bridge design on 8x32 binoculars, like what you find on Zeiss Terra, Carson 3D ED and Polaris ProBirder Ultra HD, allows a steadier grip. Eye relief is listed at 17.5 mm. Seemingly good on paper, but... I wear glasses, and consider 16 mm eye relief to be barely adequate, 17 mm good, 18 mm excellent, and 19 mm outstanding. Well, for some reason eye relief on these binoculars just feels adequate, not good or excellent. 3) Accessories 5/5. Vanguard is known for their quality bags, and this one does not disappoint. Final verdict: excellent binoculars if you find them on sale for under $250. Otherwise also consider Carson 3D ED Zeiss Terra ED, which fall into the same price category at B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Glass New to birding and wanted to live within my small budget for optics. Love the open bridge design, the weight and over build quality. This brand and model were chosen after reading and researching all the brands, and some limited handling in local sporting good stores. Vanguard is known for their bags, the one included is well made and works well. The neck strap works just as well. I've only been out doors a few times and have enjoyed this pair immensely. Thus far, I don't have any complaints to mention at this time. Would recommend
