Key Features
  • MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod
  • MHXPRO-3W Pan/Tilt Head with QR Plate
  • Load Capacity: 17.6 lb
  • Max Height: 72"
This B&H Kit pairs a MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod with a MHXPRO-3W 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head. Holding up to 17.6 lb, and with a maximum height of 72", the tripod features a Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT055XPRO3's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down low for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

question

Is there a carbon fiber version of this tripod? If so, what are the specs...and the price?
Asked by: Chester
The Manfrotto MT055CXPRO3 would be the carbon fiber version of the MT055XPRO3. At the time of this posting, the kit with the MHXPRO-3W head would be $588.95. You can find the specs for the tripod, on its page on our site.

Would I be able to use a medium to large size gimbal head on this tripod?
Asked by: Ron
The Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod has a maximum support weight of 19.8 lb. Technically, as long as the total weight you are putting on the tripod including the head, camera body and lens is no more than around 19 lbs it should be fine.
