The lesson plans cover areas such as music fundamentals, composition, ear training, improvisation, listening skills, notation, and performance. These subjects are not presented in a specific order, providing the teacher flexibility based on the classroom set-up. Each individual lesson addresses the National Standards for Music Education and is organized in the following order: keyboard skills required, MENC national standards, objectives, materials, procedure, extensions, reproducible student handouts. A companion website to the books is provided, allowing you to download the MIDI and audio files mentioned in the lesson plans.
